THE 30 DAY METALOCALYPSE MEME
Day 02: What was your first reaction to it as a series?
Oops, I kind of accidentally answered this question already XD well I guess I can go into more detail.
This show was nothing like what I usually watch. I vaguely remember seeing commercials for it back when anime was still on [adult swim] (I still kind of remember one where they slowed down the opening theme to sound kind of like a Carmina Burana-esque piece, wish I could find a video clip of that one). I used to be pretty vocal against non-anime [adult swim] programming.
I'm not proud. And I see other people doing it now and I think "lol they'll come around."
Anyway. I was pretty scared with myself when I started seeing episodes like Dethkids, Religionklok, Dethstars, Dethdoubles, Dethcarraldo and The Metalocalypse Has Begun, and I started realizing how much the show appealed to me. I seriously wasn't expecting to be so taken by the humor and the characters and the MUSIC OH MY GOD THE MUSIC.
Basically I was scared of the show at first, and a little embarrassed to like it, but now I own it.
