...37 days...
I saw her on the way to the lab this morning. I usually walk up the side stairs to reach the Physics Department on the 3rd floor. Instead, I sped up to catch up to her and went up the main stairs. I stuck up a casual conversation. Her lower back was exposed due to the cut of her shirt. I saw what looked like a henna tattoo. I said, "Nice Tattoo." ....small talk ensued.... I tripped on the stairs because I'm a clumsy and I was distracted by the presence of her beauty.
I applied to another job today. The company is "Scaled Composites, LLC". I have no idea what LLC means. Google says it means "Limited Liability Company". I still have no idea what LLC means. Anyway, I applied. This is the company run by Burt Ratan. The company who one the Ansari X Prize by sending the manned SpaceCraftOne into space without government aid.
According to their website they are looking to hire engineers from entry-level to experienced. They listed about 10 positions. I qualify for about 6 of them. That means I have some experience in those positions and could easily be trained to become an expert at them. This makes me feel good. I composed a personalized cover letter and mailed it and my resume to them by post. Post...that's the slow non-electronic mail.
They are kinda in the desert though; the Mojave desert in California to be exact. 80 miles north of Los Angeles. But still, it's Cali. And better yet, it's a job. So uh, pray for me or whatever it is your faithy people do.
I'm listening to Sleater-Kinney. They're an all-girl Indy Rock band. She is the one who turned me on to them. This music is hot. I get excited just listening to this music. Did I mention the band was all-girl? HOT. That's a chick on guitar, vocals, drums, and bass. So hot. It's like her voice is undressing me.
Speaking of muzak, I found a couple new bands today that I really like. Well, not "new" bands. One is called The Baker Gurvitz Army. It features Ginger Baker, the drummer from Cream. Great music.
The second band needs some introduction. It's 1971. The British Invasion is in full swing. Led Zeppelin IV is on the radio with Stairway to Heaven. Van Morrison's Wild Night, The Doors' Riders on the Storm. Even the Jackson 5 are together. The Berlin Agreement is signed. And somewhere in Germany is a psychedelic, hard rock, power trio called Silberbart, or in English, "Silver Beard". They only made one LP (called 4 Times Sound Razing) comprised of only 4 songs. However, these songs are definitely noteworthy gems of rock history. A combination of Cream, Zeppelin, Hendrix, and Nazis. Pure, hardcore, raw. The music just oozes LSD. And I'm sure this album would be REALLY AWESOME stoned. The trouble is, I can't find it. Amazon doesn't have it. According to the Interw3bs, they split up and the album went underground.
Monies and an appropriate amount of affection to the person who finds me the album.
