"Bugger it", we thought - it's Friday, and we *never* see a film in the first week.  So we booked tickets for Alice in Wonderland.

Thanks for that. I've been wondering whether to go and see it. I think I'll wait for the DVD.

It was disappointing, but largely because I had such high expectations for a Burton film; it's still worth trekking out for IMO, for the 3D which is (mostly) well done, and generally Good Intentions.
