"Bugger it", we thought - it's Friday, and we *never* see a film in the first week. So we booked tickets for Alice in Wonderland.
Visually utterly stunning, and the show entirely stolen by Helena Bonham-Carter, but ultimately I was disappointed.
A lof of characterisation seemed shallow, too derivative of Lord of the Rings, the Bandersnatch looked a bit like Bagpuss on a bad day, and Johnny Depp didn't quite seem to have decided how to play the Hatter. Full marks to Barbara Windsor and Alan Rickman for excellent voices.
Worth seeing, but I hoped for better.
