Ugh why did I get talked into seeing this? I should have known better.
Yes your king saw Terminator: Salvation this weekend and he really shouldn't have. After the horrible Terminator 3, which I truly hated very much, how could I have been suckered into seeing this next installment in the saga that never ends!!
I should have known better, I really should have. I walked out of T3 wondering why they continued the series after one of the best movies in the series ever in T2. Even the original creator of the series has wanted nothing more to do with the series after everything was wrapped up nicely in T2. Ugh this is like Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull all over again. I got suckered into seeing something I shouldn't have.
Alright as always don't read if you don't want to be spoiled. But if you didn't see it yet, I'm doing you a huge favor here stopping you from spending 10 dollars of your hard earned money for a 2 hour waste of time.
Anyway here goes..
There is no Arnold to be found this time, well not really as he isn't totally not in the film .. ugh. So it starts out this time in the post appocolyptic future where the machines are trying to kill every and any human found and the humans themselves are forming a resistance against them. Well whatever humans are left that is.
The thing is though, the red, dreary, nuclear fallout future we had seen in T2 seems to be missing here. Instead its a bright blue sky, desert filled, Mad Max looking type of world we are in now. The cities all look like I just rampaged through them but not like nuclear bombs had gone off. Just destroyed and vacated. It just didn't match up right.
The armies of Terminators that we had seen in Judgement Day related movies and games too was just missing. Instead you would get a few robots showing up every now and then. Some by air, some by road and the standard walking type. So me and my friend were disapointed early with that alone as we were expecting huge battles of man vs machine. But it was more scattered with every now and then some situation showing up .. a battle that just ended too quickly and didn't seem to go anywhere and a break in the action to do it again eventually.
Not to mention how boring the whole movie truly was. 2 hours of nonsense really. Christian Bale really isn't a good actor. He is a good batman I suppose but as John Connor he was boring. Taking over the main role of this film just didn't work. And the introduction of the Marcus character was really ridiculous. It really was missing that being chased by a certain Terminator factor throughout the whole film. Instead we got a cyborg who thinks he is human but really is a Terminator just doesn't realize it.. and this really horrible ending that they just seemed to pull out of nowhere .
I'm done with the series. This is it. I am done. No more Terminator films for me. At least not that I am going to pay in the theaters to see. I didn't hate the film though, I hated the 3rd one, this one just was a waste of time is all. The plot holes were huge too.
Skynet gets John Connor into the main base that it's located in to finally kill him yet only sends one Terminator after him ? Lame. The whole capturing humans thing made no sense either. Skynet for some reason was going out of its way to heard and prison humans but that too seemed stupid. The Marcus story line was crazy. And the resistance cells fighting or not fighting or surviving or not I don't get it at all. This movie was really crap. Maybe it did need Arnold and a non stop chase like was in the other 3 films. That is what Terminator is known for.
All your king can say is, be ready to be let down yet again by this film. It will NOT live up to expectations and really just comes off as a fast cash cow that continues a series that had to end a long time ago. I know they have two more planned in the series that won't end, but for me it's over. It should have ended after T2 and for me now this is it. I am done with the series. This really was pure crap and not worth the time or effort.
AVOID AVOID AVOID! This whole series should be terminated. I will NOT be back to see this again!
