Unearthing Egypt's Greatest Temple
In fifth year primary and 1st year preparatory school, we were studying the history of Pharaoh's period in Egypt and when it came to Amenhotep the III , I had a fantasy.
The 2 statues of the Pharaoh stand in a bad condition in Luxor and their rocky built became so week that you can see rocks separated by cracks that you can see through to the other direction.
It was obvious that Amenhotep's statues couldn't stand the effect of long years. Yet why were those statues staying there separately, The answer in my history book was that those 2 statues were in the entrance of a great temple. A very big, fascinating temple , yet that temple didn't survive the long effect of time.
The temple ,"says my history book for 1st year prep." was made in similar way of the mighty Karnak , with a wide hall just behind the entrance and several large statues for gods and the pharaoh the the Holly place inside and covered as usual .
The description of that mighty huge temple made me Fancy about finding it yet I was so sad to know that it might haven't survived destruction and the evidence was always the bad condition of the 2 last remaining statues of the Pharaoh.
Yet this year, the Large archaeological victory is declared: the statue is still preserved.
From those pictures and link you will read about the huge fascinating temple and its discovery.
I am sure that after every statue gets in its lace again the temple will regain its charming glorious view
At last it is rediscovered, Welcome back to earth's surface!
