Again another long period between blog posts. I basically had no life last week as I was insanely busy with this project at work. The main deadline was Friday and I was trying to get all of the stories completed. I have two left to get done, one that I need to write and the the other I have to get ahold of some people. We'll see how that goes. I'm so glad that I'm almost to the end of the tunnel. By the time I hit Friday my brain was fried.

This weekend I went up to the U.P. to see Len. Saturday we went to Germfask to visit his great-grandpa, Don and step great-grandma, Mary. We were there for most of the day, just sitting and chatting with them. I really enjoyed hearing Mary's stories about how she moved to the area when she was around 11 years old from Flint. She went from being a city kid to moving up there and at that time they had no running water or electricity. Their bathroom was an outhouse and her mother had to wash clothes off a scrub board. I know I'm going off on a tangent here but my point is I love hearing stories about older people's childhoods and the decades they grew up in. It's just interesting to me to hear how things were during their younger years.

We left their house after eating dinner at this bar called Jolly's Inn. The food was really good and the prices were more than reasonable. After leaving the house Len let me take over driving his truck for a bit on the Seney stretch so I could practice learning how to drive a manual transmission. I didn't do too bad for only doing it for my second time. I'm still not comfortable driving in heavy traffic yet with it but I'll get there sometime if I practice enough.

When we got to Marquette we went to Wal-Mart (yet again!) so we could do Len's grocery shopping. Then we went back to his house and watched T.V. until Len wanted to sleep at 11:30 p.m. I drove back to the hotel and fell asleep almost as soon as I got there.

Sunday I drove to Len's house to have breakfast with him and hang out with him for a couple hours. I couldn't go to church since I had to leave by 11 and work at 5 p.m. It was really hard to say good bye I'll just say that.

This coming weekend I'm going to Marine City to visit my mom and stepdad and I'll be going to visit my sister to see her new apartment. I found out from her that she's now 3 months pregnant and is due March 28. I'll be getting ultrasound pictures from her soon. Well I've got to run. Laters everyone!
