so i just got back from my interview. i think it went well. first question he asked me was what do you want to be when you grow up? im like uuhhhh and he was like well let me re ask, what intrigues you career wise? so im like well interpretation and helping others communicate etc. so then he keeps asking me like whats the worst problem ive had to deal with. and tells me what i would have to deal with at the company cuz since it is HR the worker problems are your problems. and all this other stuff. so then he asks if i have any questions so i asked about how big exactly the company is, how much english do the workers speak, where are they from, what exactly the job entailed. he was kinda intimidating when he would speak to me but near the end he did start to lighten up so i hope thats a good sign. I didn't ask about pay or anything like that but i did ask about hours and he said it was mon-fri 7-3:30ish. im not sure if i should have asked about salary...sometimes i feel like that is for whenever they offer you the position and then you discuss...but at the same time i have no idea what the pay range would be for this position. I gave him my writing samples and he read through some of it. I also gave him my list of references. I did mention that i looked at the website and made questions about it in hopes it looked like i actually looked into the company. He said that he still had a couple of interviews and that he would get back to me sometime next week. I asked him what exactly was gonna need translating/interpreting and he was like well, about 95% of the workers are hispanic and so some will need help understanding. and i have a training manual that needs translating still too and a lot of other papers. So hopefully my writing pieces helped look good. So here is to hoping that they call me back with good news.

It was probably a 35 or so minute interview. not bad for a one on one i think.
