Mr. Menno is the man

Religion is defined as one’s beliefs and opinions concerning the existence, nature, and worship of a deity or deities, and divine involvement in the universe and human life. It also includes a set of strongly held beliefs, values, and attitudes that somebody lives by. For example, I was born and raised as a Roman Catholic, a branch of Christianity. Other religions include Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam. Each religion has its own creation story and beliefs about life before and after death. Citizens dedicate their lives to a single religion, based on their personal beliefs, or as a result of how they were raised.
Identifiable aspects of religion include whether they are monotheistic or polytheistic, the scriptures they hold sacred, and certain practices performed by people who belong to a distinct faith. For example, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are all monotheistic, the belief that only one God exists. Hindus suppose that there are many Gods, while Buddhists feel that they must achieve enlightenment to end suffering. Also, Christianity has the Bible as their sacred scriptures, Judaism has the Torah, and Islam has the Koran. Certain practices by different faiths include Christians praying daily, while Hindus and Buddhists meditate as part of their daily habits. Muslims, the people of Islam, will make a sacrifice to Allah, or their name for God, while planning a pilgrimage to Mecca, the Holy City, which is a strong foundation of their faith. These aspects of religions are what distinguish each faith from each other, and symbolize how the world is composed of unique people with distinct daily practices.

That was my first homework assignment for Mr. Justin Menno, my teacher for World Religions. After meeting him, I figured that he was simply the Feehan version of Mr. Blake, my 7th grade social studies teacher. Back in 7th grade I learned about Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam with him and now I find out I'm going to learn it all over again ... with Mr. Menno. Sweet huh? So that was the cool part of today.

Going back to yesterday, I worked 3-9. Except this cute girl trained me to work the E-Z Shoppers, or the self-scanning registers. Basically I use a "magic" card to perform override codes such as manually entering a price or voiding out an item a customer didn't want to buy. Then if the customer pays with a check I endorse it for them. Otherwise about 90% of being the E-Z Shopper clerk is just standing there, NOT DOING ANYTHING!!! I can't believe I was getting paid for just doing nothing for most of my 6-hour shift! Life has been wonderful these past 2 months. Except a few minutes ago I get this IM:

Snoop2513 (9:26:20 PM): kyyyyle

soxmaniac2003 (9:28:42 PM): hahaha

That Ultimate Bovine Mark Lasko has to ruin my day! I'll show him sometime soon.
