Oh, today was simply delightful. There were 14 rooms to clean and only one housekeeper! I only had to do my floor, fortunately, but that was still nine rooms. I got six done because I made the mistake of trying to get the two worst rooms taken care of, resulting in a nice, healthy chunk of delay. Got new pens, though. :D

Work was a total drag today, but immediately afterwards Mom dragged me out to PetSmart to get Max's food since she couldn't remember which brands to buy. One of their two blue masked lovebirds had escaped and was trying to get back to its mate, but was equally scared of the humans and dogs and whatnot (it was another adoption weekend). Today was the shortest, easiest working Sunday yet! \m/

It's not exactly hard to figure out which side of the line that separates the good housekeepers from the bad I'm on, but actually hearing Joyce say that she'd leave if Amber, Pam and I did really gives me the warm fuzzies. (Yeah, can you tell I'm the sort of person who was happy to get dopey awards at school?)

I thought today was going to be smooth sailing with eight rooms to do, but I ended up getting five tacked on to my list and the bilge rat new house-wench who was supposed to be in today didn't even show up. She's pretty incompetent, so Pam and I figure she'll be walking the plank soon enough.

Today one of my two stayovers, 126, had a cat that waltzed out from under the bed while I was stripping it. She was SO PRETTY, all black with a white spot on her chest and a couple more in a line on her belly. There were 18 rooms to clean at work today and 2 housekeepers. If it takes 30 minutes to clean a room, then it stands to reason that it will take 4.5 hours four Pam and I to clean all the rooms, yes? At ESA, not only are we allowed to dress up for Halloween, we are actively encouraged to do so. I have a couple of ideas (a mad scientist or your classic black-dress-and-point-hat witch, but with props!), but I would also like suggestions, so! ( Take this quiz of mine, which apparently works for once! Shock! )

Apparently Joyca also hired two other housekeepers yesterday. Auria starts tomorrow and Lydonna starts Thursday. My days off are Sunday (YES) and Friday, which won't be quite as nice as the original schedule but is totally understandable.
