Um.....EW Germs

So I have been very sick lately. I went to a doctor at CMU today, this is something that I never like to do. Most of the doctors are crazy there and do not know how to practice medicine. I took a chance and went to one that I have heard a lot of people go to; if for no other reason, but because they take all insurance types and allow walk ins. I go and fill out the paper work and wait my turn. After about a half hour I get called back. This was slightly better than what I was thinking I would have to wait, since I was a walk in and the waiting room was full. (Including a person who was talking to a toy cat to humor her child. I vowed at that moment to never talk to toys in public. My child will have to learn to play by them self! I will never allow others to see me invite a toy cat to dinner or have a 10 minute conversation while others watch in pure confusion. Okay it might have been just be watching and confusion might not have been the expression, it might have been embarrassment for her!) When the doctor walks in to my room I notice him right away even though I was entrenched in a CNN story about a Rochester Hills kid planning a Colombine 2. The reason that I knew he was walking in was because I could hear him hacking up a lung long before he even walked into my room. While he was blowing his nose he was asking me what seemed to be the problem. I thought to myself "Dear lord do NOT touch me with those germy hands and shouldn't some one ask you what the problem is?" But I politely reply with my symptoms. The conversation below happened next:

Dr: Is your tummy tender?
Me: Yes slightly in places but I have not eaten real food in almost 5 days
Dr: (pushing on my tummy) Does this hurt?
Me: Um yes
Dr: Right here (pushes again)
Me: (flinching in pain) Yes right there and around it
Dr: (pushes harder....I swear!) Here?
Me: YES RIGHT THERE!
Dr: Have you been around people with mono lately?
Me: Not that I know of
Dr: Um what does that mean?
Me: Well no one introduced them self to me as having mono so I guess I don't know for sure.
Dr: Hmmm (still confused at my not knowing if some one around me had mono...but what if they didn't know they had it?)
Me: Well I do go to CMU the germ capital of the world so anything is possible.
Dr: (Hacking up his other lung) We better run some tests.

Oh...people crack me up some times
