Quirks

Jun 09, 2011 11:04

My characters need quirks. Quirks, faults, foibles. Aside from adding a touch of comic relief, quirks make characters into people.

Darville paced with hands behind his back, head thrust forward. The aura of a golden wolf follows him around the room as had inspects every corner and shadow.

Baamin disguised his keep intelligence and wisdom by pretending drunkenness. He'd pull a flask from his pocket and proclaim his sacroiliac was aching. The flask contained sugar water but everyone presumed it was wine or rum. Then because they presumed he was too drunk to notice or remember, diplomats, politicos, and students said and did things in front of him that they really didn't want Baamin to tell the king.

Brevelan would rather sing that talk. She sings everything, humming in the back of her throat when she must speak.

Mikka hisses and preens like the cat that used to be in her body her when she inhabited the cat's body.

My new crop of characters are flat, blank, idiots.

I think I need boar tacos to work this out.
