Gender identity is such a neat thing. In our practice we see a lot of trans patients, along with plenty of LGB patients too.
It's just so interesting seeing people born female, post "top surgery" (getting breasts removed) and testosterone, living (and largely appearing) male, only with vaginas, still needing annual pap smears, etc. But then they consider themselves lesbians, having relationships with females.
It's all very interesting. The ones who don't have top surgery, because of the testosterone, have very hairy chests. And it's odd seeing what I'd consider a torso female in shape, fat distributed mostly in female pattern, with breasts, but a ton of hair like a male.
Anyway, people are so neat, and minds are endlessly fascinating. What kind of makes me sad is that a lot of these trans patients come to us because they've met with scorn or what they describe as disgust from other practitioners. Don't know why any medical professional would act that way. People are just people in my book. Hmm.
