Glad to hear it. ^_^ So much of this fic has been from Cable's POV so far that it was a nice change to get to show what an utter exercise in frustration he is for the other characters to deal much of the time.

There's the bit you quote but earlier Cable 15 implies that Vanessa didn't even bother to act at all like Domino given that Cable thinks she's a Streissand fan because Nessa said she was when actually she's into punk and the Sex Pistols.

Ah yes, and considering that Loeb's run on the title included everything from #15 to #39 and beyond, he doesn't even get the different-creative-team excuse. I did like a lot of the changes he made to Cable as a character on that early run - adding more focus on his psychic powers and Askani philosophy over the grr-guns-and-ammo 90's caricature he started out as - but some of his attempts to play up the Cable/Domino relationship got a little painful, and skilled at keeping track of his own canon he was not. XD

(more charitably, you could say that even Vanessa was bound to have slipped up on the details occasionally, but blatant retcon is still pretty damn blatant)

Which is funny and kind of an appealing image but does makes him look like the stupidest person ever (there are characters who get a pass on not suspecting their friend/lover has been secretely replaced by an imposter, Nathan "ask me about my clone" Summers isn't one of them).

Well, technically Cable didn't even know he had a clone until long after Vanessa had been outed (and for once that reveal was actually semi-planned rather than a complete retcon) so he maaaaaybe can be granted a pass on that one. But one would still think that after working together so long back in their Six Pack days, they might have already had the chance to get to know each other a little better than that chapter implied.
