As for the actual canon, yeah it's as massively selfcontradicting on those matters as it is on most of the details of Cable's life. There's the bit you quote but earlier Cable 15 implies that Vanessa didn't even bother to act at all like Domino given that Cable thinks she's a Streissand fan because Nessa said she was when actually she's into punk and the Sex Pistols. Which is funny and kind of an appealing image but does makes him look like the stupidest person ever (there are characters who get a pass on not suspecting their friend/lover has been secretely replaced by an imposter, Nathan "ask me about my clone" Summers isn't one of them).

I did like a lot of the changes he made to Cable as a character on that early run - adding more focus on his psychic powers and Askani philosophy over the grr-guns-and-ammo 90's caricature he started out as - but some of his attempts to play up the Cable/Domino relationship got a little painful, and skilled at keeping track of his own canon he was not. Frankly, I dont really know a lot about Copycat or Domino, but i do like Vanessa from what I've read about her relationship with Deadpool...and Im I do love how you captured her slightly annoying victimization/dramaqueen-ish tone and coy roughness!(Really, I really do like her.)
The girl-talk part about Nate and everything was so hilarious and kinda adorable in a bit twisted way..lol I didn't know that they had history, and I like the cemistry between these two a lot!

^_^ That actually means a lot. I'm fond of Vanessa too (if that wasn't obvious) but in what little we see of her she's all over the place in how she deals with stuff, and that made it a little tricky to get a handle on her character for a scene this emotionally messy.
I didn't know that they had history,
You mean Domino and Cable? They've probably got more history than they've ever had on-page romance, from what little we hear about it. Most of what's said on the subject here is pure fannish speculation, though. Or a convenient way to touch on the subject of just how difficult relationships with Cable can be, which could hardly be plot relevant in any way. ;)
