Loved this, I'm pretty fond of Domino and Vanessa is interesting; it's great seeing them deal with one another's issues.

Thanks! It's good to know the girls do have a fan or two. Of course, at this point in time they pretty much are each other's issues, and since they were always going to have to deal with each other eventually - well, better to get it all over in one go.

I enjoyed it. The bit about "The Problems One Hits Trying To Make A Relationship Work With Cable" especially struck me as nice insight into his character but I liked the whole thing a lot.

As for the actual canon, yeah it's as massively selfcontradicting on those matters as it is on most of the details of Cable's life. There's the bit you quote but earlier Cable 15 implies that Vanessa didn't even bother to act at all like Domino given that Cable thinks she's a Streissand fan because Nessa said she was when actually she's into punk and the Sex Pistols. Which is funny and kind of an appealing image but does makes him look like the stupidest person ever (there are characters who get a pass on not suspecting their friend/lover has been secretely replaced by an imposter, Nathan "ask me about my clone" Summers isn't one of them).

Glad to hear it. ^_^ So much of this fic has been from Cable's POV so far that it was a nice change to get to show what an utter exercise in frustration he is for the other characters to deal much of the time.

I did like a lot of the changes he made to Cable as a character on that early run - adding more focus on his psychic powers and Askani philosophy over the grr-guns-and-ammo 90's caricature he started out as - but some of his attempts to play up the Cable/Domino relationship got a little painful, and skilled at keeping track of his own canon he was not. This was fabulous! Great resolution. I'm really enjoying this story. Your writing style is very engaging and you have a way of really bringing the characters vividly to life. Kudos!

Yay, thanks! There was a lot of work in this chapter for something I knew might not appeal to everyone reading this fic for the Cable/Deadpool, so it's really gratifying to hear people did still enjoy it. =D

Omg update!! YES!!!!
Frankly, I dont really know a lot about Copycat or Domino, but i do like Vanessa from what I've read about her relationship with Deadpool...and Im I do love how you captured her slightly annoying victimization/dramaqueen-ish tone and coy roughness!(Really, I really do like her.)
The girl-talk part about Nate and everything was so hilarious and kinda adorable in a bit twisted way..lol I didn't know that they had history, and I like the cemistry between these two a lot!

And there will be another one very soon too! Just got chapter 7 back from the beta reader this week. \o/

^_^ That actually means a lot. I'm fond of Vanessa too (if that wasn't obvious) but in what little we see of her she's all over the place in how she deals with stuff, and that made it a little tricky to get a handle on her character for a scene this emotionally messy.

I didn't know that they had history,

You mean Domino and Cable? They've probably got more history than they've ever had on-page romance, from what little we hear about it. Most of what's said on the subject here is pure fannish speculation, though. Or a convenient way to touch on the subject of just how difficult relationships with Cable can be, which could hardly be plot relevant in any way. ;)

Oh, right. I don't really think of it as being history in their case because not only do we see it all on page, it's all pretty much central to how both of them were introduced in the comics in the first place. From the perspective of C&DP though, whoa boy do they have history.
