I transferred within my company about three years ago. Today, I found out that the plant where I used to work laid off their entire production staff, half the office staff, and half the yardmen.
When I worked over there, there was a staff of 40. Now? There is a staff of 5. This is the second plant (of 7) that has been cut down like this.
I estimate I'm second on the chopping block in my office. However, given that my company goes about their layoffs in a completely random-seeming manner and not by seniority, that's not necessarily the case.
This is Not Good.
