I spent most of yesterday lying down with a headeache, but I was awake enough in the evening to see the stories of Hurricane Katrina. I saw this morning that it's weakened slightly, and that the worst of it may miss New Orleans, but still... those poor people. How terrible -- and terrifying! My thoughts are with all of them.
Mom tells me part of the roof of the Superdome has been ripped away, and the main storm hasn't even hit yet. It must be chaos in there. I can't even imagine it.

Mom is feeling better, thankfully. The meds seem to be working, which I was a little leery about, seeing as her scrip was for six pills. Two the first day, and then one each day after that for four days. I'm always skeptical about massive-dose pills, but these seem to be doing the job.
I had a horrible headache yesterday, even with the 800 mg ibuprofen I took, and it's still lingering today. I hope it's not the beginning of what she has, because I really don't want that.

One last thing... to the Little League team of West Oahu of Ewa Beach, Hawaii: congratulations! That was an amazing game, and an amazing win. You guys certainly played with much more heart and fire and -- seemingly -- ability than my MLB team yesterday!
