I went to Otaru today, a fishing town at the Japanese sea. There I saw a kitten drown in the harbour. The quay was probably 1.8 meters above sea level, there were no ladders and the place where the kitten was standing at first was behind a barbed fence. All I could do was watch it fall into the ice cold water and swim for two minutes before it died.
