Gah. I know, it has been over two weeks again. I didn’t mean to wait so long, but sometimes that just happens. The end of my spring break was all right. That Thursday I attended the high school’s production of The Pajama Game. Chris (The Frosch) had the lead role, and I am very proud of him, he did an excellent job.
Friday I woke up to discover that not only were my sinuses acting up, but I had pinkeye as well. I had plans to hang out with Alex, but I was afraid I would have to cancel them. Sarah was driving up to stay at my house as well, so I was really hoping I wouldn’t get too sick.
Well, as it turned out, I texted Alex to tell him that hanging out with me was at his own risk. He decided to take a chance, anyway. Sarah arrived and then Krista came over. Then the four of us went to Carmel and hung out with Scott and walked around Clay Terrace. It was quite a nice day, despite being sick. Luckily, my pinkeye cleared up quickly. I think it was just some extreme irritation I received from the smoke while we were camping.
Saturday, I shopped with my mom while Sarah hung out with Krista and Brian. Later in the evening, a group of us went to Austin’s and made a cake, and then met up with the cast of The Pajama Game post-show. It was weird, though, because most of the people, we didn’t know, and the only people I really wanted to hang out with were Chris, Mia, and Kyle. We went to Jennifer’s house and had a nice big party. I got to see Robin and meet her boyfriend, Michael.
Sarah and Brian stayed at my house for the night, and they magically picked up some wireless from my neighbors. I don’t know how, but it worked for them. I still had to pack, and I didn’t get to sleep until 3:00 and woke up at 6:00. We had our own little caravan going up to Muncie. I was the first resident to move into the dorm again, and after unpacking, I went to Sarah’s room. We drank some coffee, and I was completely wired on just one cup of coffee and the excitement of seeing everyone. We fed the ducks and then went to Timmy the Tree and climbed it, and I decided to be daring and climbed as far as I could go. I took some pretty neat photographs, I’d say. Later, Krista, Sarah, and I went back to Timmy and I gave my camera to the girls and I climbed back to where I was before. It was so very high!
Most of all, I was just content to be at Ball State again, even if my classes are a bore. Besides going to class, I’ve been watching Weeds and Star Trek: TNG with other people. There was a Thursday when I didn’t have English class, and so that was a pretty sweet day. I had a meeting with my academic advisor and picked out my schedule of classes for next semester. Hopefully all goes well.
Last Friday, it just seemed... anticlimactic. You know, you wait all week through all of this crap, and you expect Friday to be like some holy day since it is the beginning of the weekend. However, Alex and I met up with some of his friends and went to Cheeseburger in Paradise and watched The Golden Compass at Pruis. Then, much to my enjoyment, Kayla was gone, so Alex spent the night.
Alex had suggested cooking dinner, so on Saturday, we went to the grocery store and picked up ingredients for spaghetti. We spent a lot of time making our delicious dinner. It was pleasant. I also called my dad, since it had been three weeks since I had talked to him. They had just arrived home from their trip to Disney World, which sounded like a really fun trip. I still wish I could have gone with them, but of course, that wasn’t my choice. I also talked to David about his birthday. He seemed to enjoy himself.
Later, they were showing Arsenic and Old Lace in Brian’s room. Alex slept through most of it, and I was getting tired, so we just went to my room and slept, and nothing too exciting happened on Sunday, except it was Easter and we dyed Easter eggs.
This past week was pretty good, too. On Monday, I went to Wal-Mart to buy some things I needed and also bought new headphones (as my Skullcandy ones were shot) and the Juno soundtrack. Nothing much else happened until Thursday, when all the people going on the trip to Philadelphia left. It was a cheap trip, and I probably could have gone, but I just didn’t want to sacrifice my four Friday classes. It is a good thing I didn’t, because my history teacher had a easy pop quiz and I needed the points... Anyway, we played Rock Band Thursday night, and I got to sing whenever I wanted to.
After my classes on Friday, I had lunch with Anna. I spilled my tray, but I was able to salvage my food and drink. I was just lucky I didn’t get it all over my clothes. I went to the mall afterwards, and I bought a new shirt and jeans, replaced my locket necklace, and bought Danger Girl. Danger Girl kicks ass! Woo!
Around 8:00, a large group of us went to Sunshine Café and I had a light snack. We got sets of crayons and doodled on the back of our placemats. I had fun.
Alex and I were taking care of Scott’s fish while he was on the trip, so we had the key to his room. He let us play or watch anything we wanted to, and so we played Cooking Mama on the Wii and finished watching the first season of Weeds. Then, I just slept on Scott’s bed because I didn’t feel like going back to my room.
Saturday, my mom came to visit, bringing my GameBoy and the remainder of my spring clothes and we ate lunch at Scotty’s Brewhouse. It was pretty good. She left, and one of Kayla’s sisters stayed the night. Hence, I did not stay in my room. Alex and I went to Vanilla Greens, which is a miniature golf course. It was something different to do, and it was nice, though a little chilly. We returned, and Geldes, Chris, and Alex began playing the endless set list on Rock Band on expert. I spent the first two hours of that in Scott’s room playing Cooking Mama, and then I went downstairs to watch the fun. I read Danger Girl in its entirety and just hung out. It took almost six hours for them to finish the endless set list. It was all kinds of crazy.
Alex and I then went upstairs and I gave my virtual rock star a back massage while we watched Robot Chicken. I stayed in Scott’s room again until he called me at 9:15 Sunday morning to tell me that they were almost back on campus. Good thing, too, or else they would have just shown up and I would have been passed out on Scott’s bed and they would have been like, “WTF, mate?”
I helped Scott and Dan up to their room, and then Scott and I fell asleep again. I got up about 1:00 and took my shower. Then I grabbed lunch and went back to the lounge. Alex, Scott, and I went to Wal-Mart and Goodwill later, and I found a set of beautiful plates at Goodwill, so I bought them - very cheap, too.
Today hasn’t been bad, though I’ve been having a big mess going on in my mind right now. I didn’t have history today, so I only had to worry about German and anthropology. I picked up my Dean’s List pin today and printed out my job referral for my desk staff/opening committee interview on Thursday. Here’s hoping it all goes well.
