My 7th LJ Anniversary.....
was yesterday. Seven years ago yesterday I made my first LJ post. At that point I had never written a slash story. No. Take that back. I had. But I had immediately thrown it away in a guilt-induced fit of embarrassment. At that time, my dears, I thought I was the only woman on earth who actually liked slash. I thought I was perverted and weird. In many ways that was one of the best gifts that LJ gave to me.... teaching me that those feelings were not only a normal part of my being but that they were actually a joyful, beautiful, and wonderful part of it.
Since then I've written many slash stories, as you know. Most about my beloved Sean and Elijah, but some about Sam and Frodo who I've loved for fifty years.... and I actually wrote a Dom/Viggo story once, on a dare.
Along the way I've found many, many friends... some of them the best friends I've ever had. Experienced some of the best times in my life. and, sadly, some of the worst.
But I've learned so much about myself. Come to believe in what I'm capable of doing and achieving. And I've done it in the best company of all... all of you. The gifts of knowledge I gained from being here have flowed through all of you. Some who were once part of my journey have moved on, and that's fine. That's part of life. We come together and we parted, hopefully learning something valuable along the way. But to those of you who have stayed I want to express my gratitude. You've been my Fellowship through the good times and the bad. I owe all of you a lot, and I'm very grateful for all of you. Thank you.
This journal is an invaluable treasure... because of the people who have shared it with me.
