Uh. They didn't get written yet. BUT I saw a snake today! Here's the story.
Rhb and I were walking back to the car after I was done with class, discussing Prop 8 (I was giving him a recap of the discussion I had just listened to in my sociology class about it), when I noticed a snake (at least 1 to 1.5 feet long) in the dirt by the sidewalk on Nathan's side. It took a second for me to process this (especially since I was in the middle of sharing my very preoccupying opinion) before I reacted by jerking Nathan away from it. Confused at my actions, he asked what the crap I was doing, and I informed him of the snake. At this point it was slithering into a nearby bush, so he only got to see the tail disappear, but he went back to look more closely, then returned to tell me it was only a garden snake, perfectly harmless.
In defense of my reaction, a) in AZ we only have rattlesnakes and we are indoctrinated with how dangerous they are, b) I've never seen a snake not in a cage (aka wild snake) before, c) I really only had a few seconds to react, and d) it's not like I freaked out. I was just surprised. It's not every day you see a snake on campus. And then I learned that rhb has entertained the notion of buying a boa constrictor before and may someday act on it. I was not aware of this going into the marriage... :P I probably wouldn't mind too much if he did though, after we have a real house and as long as I didn't have to clean the cage or anything.
Speaking of pets, I want a kitten.
And it's supposed to snow tomorrow. :( Brr.
