Over the past couple of decades, paleontologists and archaeologists have been proposing humans are to blame for the loss of our neanderthal cousins. Many forms of genocide have been proposed such as neanderthals being unable to harness fire. Funnily enough, an earlier study suggests neanderthals were adept with fire.

The genus Homo is a clever lot, accomplishing a lot in the span of 10,000 years. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an older neanderthal civilization 50kya which could've given us a run for our money. Where's the evidence?
