senility and what i probably meant to post

Last night after a knock-down, drag-out argument with my wife over how I'm an awful husband and my desire to leave, I went behind the garage to talk with Dorpy.

After being out there for an unspecified time, my wife called for me because she wanted to know if I was going to eat the chicken cutlets. I got up and heard a frenzied scrambling in the twigs and leaves behind my chair. I figured that was Handsome Pete since he's an indoor-outdoor kitty. When I got inside, I found Pete was there.

For a moment I thought Dorpy's ghost was with me, and he didn't want me to see him.

Later when I had to wash the couch cover I saw the lanky, teenaged tuxedo cat who's been haunting the neighborhood. I filled the outside cat bowl with kibbles just in case. It's important to care for outside critters, whether they're birds, squirtles, or kitties.

At 1:18 a.m. I woke to make my bladder gladder when I heard a familiar "ting". Keeks was looking out the window facing the outside cat bowl. Flipped on the light and discovered a young-ish raccoon doing as raccoons are wont to do. Cracked the window, stuck just the tip of my finger out and the raccoon briefly touched my finger before scampering away. Poor critter took a bad tumble to the ground, but the raccoon made an escape even if it was lacking grace.
