coaxial cable

One scene stood out from my dream last night. I was on the eponymous street of my father's hometown and someone called down from the roof of its dinky little movie theater about how its cable was full of ghosts. Not their cable television service, but the coaxial cable. The person yelling from the rooftop mentioned how the cable had been installed during the Revolutionary War. I was with Bobby Baccalieri from The Sopranos, and he was posing as an electrician. He had no idea what the cable was called, and neither did I, so I spent the good part of this dream wracking my brain to remember. At one point I thought it was "rebar", then I concluded it was called "romex".

Leading up to this vignette took place at my day job's dinky little office building behind a supermarket. It was night, I had to lock the place up to keep the monsters out and there were lots of people who wanted to come in. They were just refugees, not afraid of the monsters.

I found Bobby and asked him if he could score me some weed. Told him I was expecting to get paid and he could use the check.

He used the entire check, didn't get me the weed, but purchased a curious bathrobe that made me look like Godzilla when I put it on. Not like the Toho Godzilla, but a Godzilla your mom would think of when sewing something for her kid. Still it was a nifty little garment. He apologized for using the change for "incidentals" implying he kept the change for his time and effort.
