Hey :)
ALL IS WELL AT THE COUNTY FAIR. :oP
Well, I moved into Colonial Village the Tuesday before last, and things are finally starting to settle down. The weekend before last was spent in Seattle with my father's side of the family for my cousin Lauren's wedding. It was absolutely gorgeous weather, and Lauren couldn't have looked more exquisite. I am very, very jealous of her affluent beauty. My grandmother wasn't extraordinarily fun to take care of (especially when she'd argue with me about what gate we needed to go to in the airport), but I appreciated the time I was able to spend with her given that I rarely see her. Her memory is fading, but her spunky, sometimes brash sense of humour is still quite intact. I didn't arrive back to Westborough until around 11pm on Memorial Day, and I left for Amherst at noon the following day.
I've worked every day but one since my return to Amherst, and having two jobs (and one class), in a way, is beginning to do a number on me. But I survive. My first few nights in town were spent in a purple haze, as any of you would probably expect. The first weekend was so wonderful that I fear no other (save Cape weekend) will equal it in fun and activity. A large number of Orchard Hill boys came up to party on Friday: Jon, Jason, Kyle, Pops, Andre, Moe(girl), and Jaquith, and we partied at the house of Nick Jacobson, Ben, Ashley, and Colin. It was a wonderful time! (albeit rather crazy - at one point, if I recall this correctly, Jon was shooting Kyle's ass with a BB gun!) Half the guests stayed at the Stratford house(my place), and the other half crashed at Das Haus (the others' place). Our proximity to one another is so convenient it's astounding! A mere .521 miles lies between our houses! (With a Cumberland Farms falling between! By the way, a majority of the young men that work at this mini-mart are quite handsome and friendly, which is a definite incentive to stock up on 69 cent slushies! Any size!) After work on Saturday, Jon, Jason, and I headed out to Deerfield to go to the cliff/creek with the rope swing. It was far too cold to bear immersing myself in that mucky water, but Jon and Jason seemed to have a ball! We also drove to the top of Mt. Sugarloaf (lol) and the view was spectacular! Saturday night, Jon, Jason, Jaquith, and Andy still stayed up to party, but the other third or so of the gang went back to their respective homes.
Michael has been a delightful roommate to have, and both of our jobs revolve around freshman orientation so we get to see each other at work! The Stratford house is turning out to be quite the abode, and if I was certain I could find a subletter for the second half of next year, I wouldn't think twice about continuing the lease through the fall. Going back to live in a stingy dorm will be utter hell.
Chelsey and I just this past week have joined Hampshire Fitness, which has wonderful workout facilities! They have indoor tennis courts and a basketball court, an indoor pool and jacuzzi, tons of treadmill rooms (some with individual TVs for each treadmill) including ellipticals, crosssteps, stairmasters, etc., free cardio classes, such as kickboxing and aquarobics, weight rooms, etc. WORD. My weight-losing trend slowed to almost a halt due to the wedding (yummmmy fooooood - couldn't resist) and returning to my innutritious drugging habits. However, since I've started to exercise once again, I've lost another 3lbs, taking my total so far this summer up to 6lbs. Woo hoo!
Well, I can't think of much else to say... Cape Weekend June 17-19! I'm so excited; it should be a blast though it will be much cooler than I'd hoped - around 60 degrees. Oh well, 95 degrees would have had its own drawbacks.
<3summer. come visit.
