Peevish ramblings
Okay, so this is a picky little point, but holy hell, why does everybody feel the need to title their blog "Ramblings from..." or "The musings of..." or "My disjointed thoughts" or whatever? It's self-deprecating, and all, and cute, I guess, but for some reason it just irritates the hell out of me. Perhaps it is the English teacher in me: the words "rambles" and "musings" have actual meaning in the English language, and they do not mean "A reiteration of the more salient points in the day of a middle school student." It implies that actual thoughts will in some way be attacked in these blogs, and attacked furthermore in a disorganized fashion, with little to connect one thought to the next (if we are dealing here with rambles rather than musings). This hardly ever happens. The people whose blogs contain thoughts almost never feel the need to qualify them with these cute little words.
