You know what movie rocks hardcore? Do you?

That's right...

"30 Days of Night"...it almost worked better than Steve Niles comic as far as time organization was concerned, because in reading the book I thought that the 30 days was like a week. That aside I still love the graphic novel more, with Ben Templesmith's art and Nile's keen ability to create the horrifying world. Especially since they went more into the history of the vampires in the books....that would have been nice in the film, but no matter the performances of Josh Hartnett, Danny Huston, Ben Foster and the relative newcomer Mark Rendall were all phenomenal. I'm glad that Hartnett is living past his days of "HEARTTHROB" because he really is so much better then that. With his tiny stint in Sin City, Lucky Number Sleven, and Mozart and the Whale...he's really shaping up to be one of the better young actors of today. The film is terrifying and the vampires are horrific. The character development was very well done, and it real boils down to a survival film that envelopes the viewer in a world so dark and frightening it feels hopeless and empty. By the way, it truly has one of the most beautiful endings I have ever witnessed, especially from a film in this genre.

Hooray for fantastically gory and emotionally resounding vampire flicks!
