So... poor kids had quite the scare this morning. They were at their dad's for the overnight visit that is required by the court. This morning, Athena woke up to hear her dad having a seizure. His cousin and the cousin's wife have been staying with him, so daughter went to go get them and to call up 911. If they hadn't been there, things might have gone differently than they had.
Long story short, kids' dad was taken to the hospital for observation since he couldn't answer ANY of the questions that the paramedics had been asking him. I found out about his seizure by the phone waking me up... Athena was calling me so that I could talk to the paramedic and give his history.
Met the cousins at the hospital to pick up the kids. Ended up meeting with his dad there too, who only found out because he had been going to invite Adam and the kids to his place next weekend for a holiday get together.
Since this is public, there are a few more things that I won't say. At any rate, kids' dad has his medication now (he'd been out a month and not been able to afford more.)
Kids are calm now, ended up getting them one of those take and bake pizzas... Kids would not leave the hospital until their dad was discharged, which was fine anyway since I was also acting as contact point after everyone left.
Tired. Very out of it due to such a wake up and knowing how scared little ones had been. Paramedics ended up giving daughter a special teddy bear because she was crying so much and so scared.
