I have a mate that loves me very much, and I love him. Sure, he's on the other side of the world, so I can't just say "hey, let's go to a movie, for a walk, or lock the door," but when I've got thoughts that form words, I can talk to him and he accepts me for who I am... even though I've got some pretty big flaws.
I have two kids that I love very much... even when one is puking on the other, or having other stomach virus related problems, or the other is being overly rowdy or diving in my bed covered in said vomit...
Said kids try to be good, though they don't always remember and sometimes there is a battle of wills, such as whether bedtime really means get into bed and go to sleep.
I have a home, and it's heated. Maybe not enough for my achy bones to be fully comfortable, but it's way better than a cardboard box after all.
I have a vehicle that gets me where I need to go.
I'm not dead.
My brother and his family live nearby, and I get to see them now and then... and I am even glad to be drafted into carrying in light stuff if a carload of things arrive while I'm there.
That my little brother is a protective type of person... and that I can literally hide behind him at times.
That the kids and I have food.
That there is a gorgous volcano I can look at every day, right outside my bedroom window. How freaking awesome is that? VOLCANO. And that it's a sacred site!
That Athena's cat tries to help take care of her when she's sick... and that he doesn't usually scratch Merlin when he's carting said longsuffering cat around the apartment.
