Pain and Poetry

Nov 25, 2004 10:59

Today I am slightly crippled, having had a bit of a misunderstanding with some stairs yesterday and cutting my Achilles tendon as a result (it's not severed or anything, but it still hurts). And as a result of that little episode, it hurts to walk because my shoes keep rubbing against the injured part of the tendon so I'm refusing to walk or chase after infants and channeling my energies into LJ instead.

Thanks to mzwyndi pointing it out, I stumbled across a link to a poetry community on LJ called speakinmemuse. If anyone feels up fer it, you need to apply to join, but it's made that way to be teenage angst verse-proof and I think it's geared towards helping the members improve their poetry.

And on that lyrical note, while I was digging through my hard drive to find some sample pieces of poetry to send them (part of the application process) I came across my triptych of poetry in French, and I wanted to resurrect them here.

LE JARDIN DES OUBLIES

Dans le jardin de temps pérdu
Je retrouverai
Les choses precieuses et oubliées.

L'innocence.
Mon enfance.
Les comptes de fées.
Les chaussetes qui s'enfuiyait
Dans le lavage.
Les terres imaginées.

Mon père.
