This. . . this seems like one of the dramas that would leave me enraged with the world at large. Tempting as Matsuda Shota is, and it does seem kind of fabulous. It just has that feeling, that I suspect it would be likely to compell my (probably apparently random) feminist rage.
Eh, I couldn't get worked up about it, since it was incredibly over-the-top soap opera with a tenuous grip on reality. XD I get much more irritated at dramas that are supposed to be modern and progressive but fail at their treatment of women (Pride, I'm looking at you).
That's a good point. If I'm supposed to view someone as a legitimate hero and role model or whatever when they're being huge asswipes, it bothers me a lot more. Just. . . naked power montage?
It seems like a good indulge yourself drama though. If I can get access to it easily i'm tempted to turn my brain off and watch it, or at least give it a try. When I finish watching MBMH again.
Jotei's biggest problem is that everything was about sex. Everything. All the time. So that was the only way to earn respect and recognition (how popular you were as a hostess, how much you put out), and even the powerful female characters were defined by it. You couldn't win.
Now I'm thinking about Jun smooching people. I don't know why this never occurred to me before but it must be really scary to have those lips coming at you.
I can see him feeling the need to prove. . . something, and launching himself at you lips first. O_O He's at least more likely to do this than Ohkura, whose lips would otherwise also be a concern.
