Tale of A Haunted Cashier

Aug 16, 2011 22:34

Tonight was my second night closing the store (the first official night at that). For those who have never been on closing duty, you count out the money, do all the financial shit, it's usually just you and the keyholder.
So, Val and I are sitting in the manager's office, sorting $20 bills and the like when we hear this ungodly BANG. It echoed through the whole store and shook the walls. It was followed by a few softer bangs, but it honestly felt like somebody slammed themselves full force into the loading bay door.
We both got up and approached the door, to hear voices (male) and footsteps, a few more banging noises, and then silence.
At this point, Val is understandably upset, so I told her it's most likely some punk ass kids showing off. We were both pretty rattled at the fact that we could have come face to face with a whole lot of trouble.
She wouldn't let me walk home after that, and insisted on driving me home.
Never a dull moment, I suppose...
