Angry Kitten... Well someone else had this icon and I stole it (with permission). I love it because I love kitties and I know that one day they will take over the world. King Kong would be a much better movie if it involved giant angry kittens, don't you think?

Bubble... This is by artist Katherine Streeter. I first discovered her with her illustrations in The Partly Cloudy Patriot, by Sarah Vowell. After reading the book I was inspired to look her up and I found her website (http://www.katherinestreeter.com) . I love her work. I wish I could master collage in the way she has. This particular image used to be my default because it kind of shows what I'd like my personna to be. There is another icon by her in my userpics, called "bummed". I use that one when someone dies, usually. But sometimes if Im just generally sad.

St. Helen... Mount St. Helen's erupting in 1980. First off, I just love the picture. My aunt told me that the guy who took that picture found the perfect spot anfd camped out for a few days waiting to get this picture (actually it was a series of pictures). Second, I remember when this erupted because my aunt lives nearby. She was not so close she had to be evacuated, but she was close enough that they had a half-inch or so of volcanic ash all over everything afterwards. She mailed us a little jar with some ash in it. It was really soft and fine. Getting volcanic ash from Aunt Evalynne in the mail, one of those childhood memories I won't forget. I don't use this icon enough.

Coffee tank... This was one of those weird little icons on bottles of Jones Soda, or maybe Jones Tea. Anyway, I thought it illustrated my feelings about coffee quite well. Like a car needs gas, I need coffee. I use this, or "coffee worship" for coffee related posts, which happen more often than you'd think.

Cow falling... A random picture I found on the internet. An allegedly real sign someone saw somewhere. I usually use it when things fall apart.

Helium... This is from the wonderful cartoon series, Strindberg and Helium. You can experience these wonderful catroons at www.strindbergandhelium.com (it helps if you know who Strindberg is, but it isn't crucial, as I think we all know the type).

Pin Poke... This one isn't all that interesting as far as the story behind it. I don't use it much. I pretty much have it because it looks cool. It was part of an online quiz someone had made that was supposed to be your "ultimate icon".
