So this is the new year....

A little delayed, but happy new year friends! As I am nursing a cold and stomach issues, I figured I'd kill some time on this lovely forgotten journal. So, tradition continues with the end of year review in the form of a meme.

2011 ~ Decent Ending Questions.

What was the highlight of 2011 for you?
Going to Mexico.

Did you lose any friends?:
No.

What about gain any?:
Yes.

What did you do for your birthday?:
I went out with friends to Honey's where they bought me gifts and fed me drinks in hopes that I would get drunk for once (didn't happen).

How old did you turn?:
29.

In your opinion, was this a good year for music?:
I discovered a bunch of new music - Young the Giant, Foster the People, etc., but the new Foo Fighters and Adele albums were fantastic. Plus Big Wreck released a new song!

Did you move at all?:
Just once to a new apartment.

How are you different now from the beginning of the year?:
I'm more balanced and my moods are beginning to level out.

Did you get in any serious trouble?:
No.

Did you read any good books?:
The Help and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

What did you do in the summer?:
Enjoyed it.

Did you go to any concerts? If so, which ones?:
Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots and Thrice.

Has your looked changed? If so, how?:
I cut my hair, got highlights, let them grow out and darkened it. The usual.

Did you date anyone?:
No.

See above.

Was 2011 a sad or happy year for you?:
It went downhill as the year progressed (except when I went to Mexico), but once I took the time to focus on myself, my feelings and mood began to level out towards the end and it didn't feel so bad.

Would you have done things differently at all?:
No.

Even just a little bit?:
Nope.

Did you have a job or were you unemployed?:
Still happily with Nixon Peabody.

Did you dress up for Halloween? If so, as what?:
I dressed up like a witch.

If you celebrate Christmas, what did you get?:
A crock pot, a hand mixer, CDs, books, a jingle bell tea light tree, and a bunch of other things.

Did you search for eggs on Easter?:
I do not.

Did you see fireworks on the Fourth of July?:
Yes. At Hyde Park with my brothers, sister in law and the kiddos.

If you go, did you skip a lot of school?:
Not in school.

Is there a song that reminds you of 2011?:
"Cough Syrup" by Young the Giant or "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People.

Do you think this year went by super fast?:
Yes.

Did you get your haircut this year?:
Twice, I think.

Do you remember how you brought in 2011? As in, celebrated?:
I was at the Naus' house with friends at a Mad Men/Speakeasy theme partied.

How did you bring in 2012?:
I went away to Washington DC and spent it with Jeremy in the old apartment.

Did you kiss anyone when the ball dropped?:
Jeremy.

Are you looking forward to anything in 2012? If so, what?:
I'm anticipating happiness for my siblings - Dan will get engaged and Michelle will have a baby or get pregnant. And maybe a trip to Vegas and/or the OBX.

If you could describe this year in one word, what would it be?:
Difficult.

Did you get in any fights? If so, with who?:
Family. as usual.

What was the best album of 2011, in your opinion?:
Foo Fighters, "Wasting Light".

Did you attend any parties?:
A few.

Was there any big family drama for you?:
Always.

Are you glad 2011 is over?:
I always appreciate new years. It's a clean slate.

Overall, was 2011 a good year for you?:
It ended better than it began. I struggled with my mental health and relationships with family, but in the end, things began to improve. 2012 will be a year of continued improvement on my health and also a year of more selfishness, so that I can enjoy my life with no questions.
