I think we must resign ourselves to the fact that evolution, whether applied to fandom or anything else, doesn't mean the thing has improved, merely that it's changed to best fit its environment, and our environment has withered so fandom left us behind -_- I speak for the elderly, here, which in fandom terms means anyone over thirty . . .
The sheer size and age of the GO fandom on somewhere like AO3 *really* scares me, yeah o_0 And hey I have the [collection of complicated symptoms Venn diagram'd into ME/CFS/fibromyalgia/etc. depending on which doctor I last saw] too! No-one knows what is wrong with me but my body, it is fucked. Also my brain, shit I used to be able to *concentrate* and like, remember words and stuff. Sorry you have to deal with it too =( But I guess you know why I keep any fandom stuff to the bare minimum of 'admin' - one second longer at the keyboard than necessary is, just, no. I get *bored* of being in pain, I really do ¬_¬
Basically: This is all good advice and yet I'm still sulking because fandom changed and I'm a dinosaur. Jesus god this is how Aziraphale must permanently feel, the moment you get used to something it's obsolete and he must feel so *irritated* all the time, when he's not just disappointed. But what should be obvious from this comment lag is why I'm nervy of entering any louder and faster internet space, I *physically* can't keep up . . .
