Cold, I'm very cold...
You'll never guess what I'm doing right now. I'm watching television with my family. All four of us are sitting in my family room watching Everwood. It's a Godawful show, but it doesn't compare to the miracle of all four of us sitting in one room together.
It was almost hard for me to come up here. I was sitting in the basement and I had to force myself to come up here. It's quite odd. I did it because my mom said it would enhance my credibility in my arguement with my dad. It's a horrible reason to do this though. It makes me upset with myself. I can't even sit down with my family to watch TV without a motive. It's disgusting. Part of me says that I'm merely a product of my envirnment... so how can I help it? The other part of my mind is saying "What are you, a sheep? You can think for yourself... sure, you are a part of your envirnment to a point, but you can change how you act and think." I don't know anymore though.
I'm watching the nine o'clock news right now and they're doing a segment about protestors from the group ACORN. They are protesting President Bush's decision not to give people without heat this winter funding. He refuses to give money from the EMERGENCY fund. These people are not just young people who could do something about it... These are eighty-year-old-plus people who cannot afford heat. Also, a few of the protesters got arrested and one woman said that she was HAPPY about going to jail because "At least it's warm." What is wrong with this picture?
Damn Republicans... only care about the rich. Maybe if George Bush pulled his overly large head out of his ass the country would not be going to Hell in a handbasket. That man is hell bent on going to war. It's amazing. If it is not Afghanistan it is Iraq. If not Iraq it is North Korea. I understand that all of those countries are threats to the United States, but by the way that Bush is acting you get the impression that he does not realize the fact that problems can be solved without violence. He barely tries does not try to be diplomatic when dealing with foreign countries. He just goes in and blows the hell out of them. How can a Yale graduate be so damned stupid? (Oh, that's right, he got in because of his daddy...) How can the American public elect a president that is so damned stupid? (I understand that the average American is not exactly your Rhodes Scholar, but I had some faith in the American public--maybe that's where I went wrong...)
