10. Kudos can be left by people without accounts as anon. Great for people who prefer to lurk like me.
9. The clean, simple layout rocks. Easy to read on both my laptop, and great on my phone because both landscape and portrait modes rotate and fit to screen well automatically. The text on FF.net often looks very cramped.
8. It's very organised. Fics in a series are all linked to each other, and the headers for the summary and author's notes at beginning and end of each chapter are very tidy and neat. If a fic is inspired by or has inspired another fic, it's linked at the top/bottom respectively.
7. The relationship tags make it really easy to sift out the pairings you want to read, and you can opt to make the search engine filter for more than one pairing, or for different combinations of characters.
6. Most authors fix the number of chapters, so you frequently see stories that even incomplete having 10 predicted chapters or so. It shows the author has planned ahead; pace and plot is integral to the process.
5. There is great art everywhere.
4. The fandom is awesome -- no crazy people in it (yet). And there are funny tags everywhere like "author has mental issues" and "i may just have accidentally created a verse" and "this fic is breeding" ahhhh love love love!
3. The titles. This fandom has like the best nonsensical-yet-meaningful titles ever.
2. You can download the entire stories in multiple different formats. I love PDF as it still retains the original links thrown in by the author. I still remember the FF.net days where I copied + pasted chapter after chapter. /wince
And the most important thing we all look for in fanfiction --
1. There is a much greater concentration of good writers. Perfect balance between crack and smut and plot and omgosh, FEELINGS EVERYWHERE!! ♥

I have totally read from 1am to 7am before finally crashing... multiple times now. So if I tweet early in the morning, it's likely I haven't got to sleep yet, rather than me waking up. I am so, so sorry if you didn't understand the long list above. Please feel free to ignore my crazed, sleep-deprived, caffeine-deprived fandom ramblings.
(Doll stuff update: Entered lottery for Volks SDGrG Jun, lost despite 6 entries, angst-ed for a bit, off to Y!J where my agent promptly won one at a reasonable price and can help me get the Japan-only optional hands. Fun shenanigans. Also I bought an autumn -- okay, winter, really, but Australian winters are mild -- outfit just for new!girlie because I want to bring her on holiday with me in June. Most frivolous reason ever.)
