Author: rainie_night
Pairing(s): one-sided!SJ-M (HenWook, HenHae, KyuHae, QMi, HanMi, SiHan, SiWook)
Rating: PG-13
Genre(s): angst, bandfic, a little fluff
Summary: It’s not only a love for music that Super Junior-M have in common.
Warning(s): angst, one-sided love
Disclaimer: I don’t own anyone in SJ-M….

A/N: I got this idea from reading a few SHINee bandfics. The idea’s not too original, but I don’t think it’s ever been done with Super Junior. I wanted to use all 15 members, but that would have been one long fanfic. Each section can be read separately, but they connect to create a longer story.

~~~~~
Falling in love with Henry Lau was almost second nature. Who could have resisted his sweet smile, chubby cheeks, and small, chocolate brown eyes? His vast amount of talents from dancing, singing, and playing the violin were enough to send anyone to their feet. He also acted the part of Super Junior-M’s magnae perfectly, beating out Kyuhyun by a long shot. However, the one aspect of many that Kim Ryeowook loved the most about his adorable dongsaeng was his kindness to others.
“Alright Henli-yah, everything is just about done,” Ryeowook said
“Wookie-hyung, you’re amazing!” cried Henry as his hyung expertly spread chocolate frosting on the cake he was assisting the younger in making. “It looks perfects. I couldn’t have done it without your help. Thank you so much!”
When Henry had asked for Ryeowook’s assistance in baking something special, the eternal magnae has to admit that he was quite surprised. The other had never really shown any interest in baking before, so he couldn’t deny that, though surprised, it was a pleasant feeling.
Ryeowook had, of course, agreed right away for several reasons. One: he couldn’t resist the idea of him and Henry spending some alone time together. Two: doing an activity that he loved so much with the person he loved more than anyone else anyone else in the world sent a wonderful feeling throughout his body. And three: would anyone really dare to upset the adorable magnae? (Didn’t think so.) Needless to say, Ryeowook was a goner from the start.
He remembered the process he went through before completely falling head-over-heels for the adorable mochi of the group. When they met, he held great admiration for the youngest for leaving his home to pursue his dreams in a completely alien country, not to mention his numerous talents and modest, shy personality despite all the praise he received. Ryeowook was aware of the fact that admiration wasn’t normal, but he had denied it by saying he held the same admiration for Han Geng and, later, Zhou Mi.
The feelings grew stronger as Henry bravely took the burden of Only13, the bulk of Super Junior’s more intolerant fans. Ryeowook had always been a mother at heart, so he couldn’t help but comfort the baby of the group. This led to his completely falling in love with Henry because comforting him led Ryeowook to getting to know the youngest better, not to mention the fact that they were almost always together in China, from sitting next to each other in variety shows to constantly being roommates.
With Henry’s appreciation voiced out, he gave Ryeowook a warm hug. The elder flushed with happiness as he felt Henry’s body against his. All the hardships Ryeowook had faced in attempting to teach the person he loved so much to bake a nice cake was worth it when he saw the obvious thankfulness on his face. “It was nothing, Henli-yah. You know I love to bake, and it was even more fun with you helping.”
Henry gave one of those smiles that almost turned him to goo and said, “Well, either way, I have to thank you again. Hae-hyung is going to love this cake!”
Without sparing the other another glance, the baby of the group skipped off into the living room where Donghae was probably watching some random Chinese television show. He failed to see Ryeowook’s smile quickly fade away at the mention of the other’s name from the mouth of the one he loved so much. Despite all the things he did for the youngest in the group, Henry only saw Donghae.
“C-Careful with that cake, Henli-yah,” warned Ryeowook as he watched the other getting farther away from him. Unfortunately, Henry never even heard a word of his hyung’s warning. He was probably too excited at the thought of making Donghae happy. The next of his words were almost whispered. “Y-You might d-drop it before… D-Donghae-hyung… sees it…”
Ryeowook sighed as he tried to hold back tears that were threatening to escape his eyes as his heart throbbed painfully in his chest. Sadly he failed. As soon as he was sure no one could see, small, salty droplets escaped his eyes, trailing down his prominent cheekbones, and until they dangled off his chin into the countertop. He sniffled a bit before wiping his eyes with the back of hands, trying to rid of the evidence.
One-sided love was painful, but he would continue to endure for that special person’s happiness.
~~~~~

Falling in love with Lee Donghae was almost second nature. Everyone in Super Junior, even some in other groups, loved Donghae, and he guessed he was no exception, only the feelings were quite stronger. He held a sort of presence that made everything seem brighter, putting a smile on everyone’s faces. Any situation was enjoyably exciting whenever touched by his influence. Topping it all off with his friendly attitude toward even the unlikeliest of strangers, Henry Lau never stood a chance.

“Donghae-hyung, I have something to give you!” Henry cried excitedly, balancing the cake on the plate, as he made his way to his hyung. “I know you’ve been missing home a lot lately, so I thought this would make you feel a little bit better.”

The elder boy gave the baby of the group a smile as he ruffled his hair in endearment. “Thanks Henli-yah. I can’t believe you put so much effort into making me feel better. You really didn’t have to. So, did you make this cake all by yourself?”

Henry flushed a light shade of pink, shaking his head, and informed, “No, I didn’t want to mess up on the cake and make you feel worse, so I asked Wookie-hyung to help me out a bit. Besides, I was nothing. I was happy to make you feel just a little bit better. So, did it work?”

“Of course it made me feel better. The cake is great, but knowing that I have such a sweet dongsaeng looking after me is even better,” said Donghae, ruffling Henry’s hair a second time, while Henry’s mochi-like cheeks turned a darker shade of pink.

Henry had always seen Donghae as a role model when it came to improving his dancing skills. He never had any romantic feelings for the older boy until they started training for their debut in China. He and his hyung had spent more time together, perfecting the dance for their debut. That was when he saw the Donghae behind his ‘role model’ perception. Henry Lau was a goner after that.

“Ooh, you know who I bet would love a slice of this?” questioned Donghae in happiness, breaking the younger’s train of thought, as Henry shook his head in order to play along, his smile slowly disappearing from his face as he knew immediately what was coming. It was a common consequence when it came to being around the other man, which he was had never gotten used to. “Kyu would love a piece, don’t you think? He must be hungry after playing all those online games all day.”

“Umm, yeah…” Henry answered halfheartedly while he blinked back tears that were threatening to reveal themselves, though the other was too preoccupied with cutting a piece of chocolate cake and placing it on one of the two plates Henry had brought.

Without even as much as another word, Donghae left Henry to venture to the other side of the room, where Kyuhyun currently was playing some sort of game on his laptop, with a plate of cake and fork in hand.

Henry smiled bitterly at the sight before him. Never had he experienced such a painful ‘friendship’ before. But, would Donghae ever treat him the same if he ever confessed his feelings? What if it only troubled him?

One-sided love was painful, but he would continue to endure for that special person’s happiness.

~~~~~
Falling in love with Cho Kyuhyun was almost second nature. He may have come off as rude or cruel at first glance with his snarky attitude, but that alone made him more endearing. Despite the various sarcastic comments he dishes out on his members, there were countless times when he showed that he truly cared for them. If Lee Donghae was forced to choose one aspect of this handsome man that he loved the most, it would be his beautiful, deep singing voice that sends the man into bliss no matter how many times he hears it.
“Kyuhyun-ah, you’ve been on that laptop all day,” Donghae said, laying the piece of cake and a fork onto the table he has set his laptop on. “Maybe you should get off already.”
“Not gonna happen, hyung…” retorted Kyuhyun.
He sighed, knowing that the other never listened to him. “You should be hungry, right? Just have some chocolate cake. I didn’t make it, but I’m sure it tastes amazing.”
The younger snorted at the elder’s words, though still keeping his eyes glued onto the computer screen. “If you ever bake a cake, I can guarantee you that I’ll never eat it, hyung. I still remember when you gave Hyukjae-hyung diarrhea from those brownies you made last year.”
The older man pouted. “Hey, I’m sure my baking isn’t as bad as some of the other members.”
“Yeah…” Kyuhyun muttered absentmindedly, choosing to focus his attention back to his computer instead of his pouting hyung. The cake Donghae had given was left untouched.
However, Donghae didn’t mind too much just as long as he got to spend some time with his favorite dongsaeng. While Kyuhyun obliviously clicked and typed away on his laptop, Donghae dreamily took in the image of the handsome former magnae. He had been entranced by this person since SM had introduced him as the thirteenth member of Super Junior. From the moment they had laid eyes on each other, Kyuhyun had become the unsuspecting owner of his heart; however, it pained Donghae to know that despite this, he was not the owner of Kyuhyun’s. He continued to star for some time, while the unknowing Kyuhyun furiously defeated his online opponents.
Donghae’s trance was cut short with the sound of footsteps heading for the living room, while Kyuhyun, who had decided just a few moments ago to put on a pair of earphones, remained oblivious. From the corner of his eye, Donghae spotted a pair of very long legs striding its way behind them. He knew the other was staring at the both of them in curiosity.
“Still on the laptop, Kui Xian?” asked Zhou Mi in exasperated tone. “You really should rest your eyes but whatever. I’m really hungry, so I’ll be in the dining room, if you two need me for some reason.”
From the moment Zhou Mi’s voice made it through Kyuhyun’s earphones, Kyuhyun immediately rose up from his laptop with the plate of chocolate cake Donghae had placed next to him, completely leaving the battle he had been dominating in.
“Mimi-ge, if you’re hungry, why don’t you have this cake?” suggested Kyuhyun with an uncharacteristic grin on his face, one that he only gave in the presence of Zhou Mi. “I think Ryeowook-hyung and Henli made it, so it should be good.”
Zhou Mi favored Kyuhyun with a thankful smile, making Kyuhyun’s grin grow even wider, as he took a bite of the chocolate cake, the one that Donghae had specifically given to Kyuhyun. “Wow, thank you so much, Kui Xian. I think I’ll have this at the dinner table. That way it’ll be easier to clean the apartment later.”
The tall man then made his way forward to the dining room with Kyuhyun immediately following his lead like a lost puppy.
Instead of staring at the painful sight of Kyuhyun giving Zhou Mi loving glances in the dining room, Donghae chose to stare at the laptop Kyuhyun chose to abandon. However he was only reminded of his misfortune by the large ‘GAME OVER’ text that displayed itself on the window of the other man’s game. Donghae tightened his fist.
One-sided love was painful, but he would continue to endure for that special person’s happiness.
~~~~~

Falling in love with Zhou Mi was almost second nature. The man had to be one of the kindest people in the world for graciously putting up with the frequent bursts of snarky remarks that came with associating with a certain former magnae, nonetheless, doing it in such a jubilant manner. If Cho Kyuhyun had to choose the greatest aspect of the man he loved so dearly, he would be faced with great difficulty because there were so many to choose from. Was it his earlier mentioned kindness, beautiful singing voice, talent as a musician, or even those long, long legs he was known for? They were all great but no. The one thing Kyuhyun loved the most about Zhou Mi was his ‘sunshine’ smile, which successfully brightened his day no matter how horrible it was.

“So, is it good, Gege?” questioned Kyuhyun as he watched Zhou put a forkful of chocolate cake into his mouth. The sweet smile on his face made it obvious he clearly enjoyed the treat, but Kyuhyun simply wanted to hear his voice. Apparently, Ryeowook-hyung spent hours trying to get Henli to perfect it.”

The other nodded happily, sending that beautiful grin toward Kyuhyun. Had he not been sitting on one of the chairs near the table, his knees would have gone weak from the wonderful sight. He cleared his throat and kept his facial expression as stoic as possible in order to fight the incoming blush threatening to make an appearance. Cho Kyuhyun never blushed, yet here he was desperately trying to fight it off. What had this beautiful Chinese man done to him?

“You know, Kui Xian, you really didn’t have to give me this cake,” said Zhou Mi, the smile never leaving his features. “Wasn’t it right next to your computer? You were going to eat it, weren’t you? I said I was hungry, but I could have just walked a few feet to get some from Li Xu.”

“It was no problem,” answered Kyuhyun. “I wasn’t even going to eat it anyway. Donghae-hyung brought it over from the kitchen to probably because Ryeowook asked him to see if I wanted one.”

The other nodded, not wanting to speak as he chewed a piece of cake. It was silent for a few moments, but Kyuhyun didn’t mind at all. This simply gave him a chance to stare at Zhou Mi’s perfection without the other noticing, a hobby that Kyuhyun had never tired of in the years they had known each other.

“Oh… okay, but I still think you should have some,” suggested Zhou Mi after he finished chewing, cutting off Kyuhyun’s train of thought. “If I know you as well as I think I do, I would guess that you haven’t eaten since I forced you in breakfast this morning. You were probably spending most of your day playing that StarCraft game, right?”

“It was not StarCraft it was… TF2!” argued Kyuhyun indignantly with a slight uncharacteristic pout. Why did all his member and even the fans think that all he played was StarCraft… even if it was somewhat true.

“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, Kui Xian,” muttered Zhou Mi, rolling his eyes, as he handed Kyuhyun his fork.

“Aren’t you going to feed me, Ge?” teased Kyuhyun as he tried, but failed, to give a cute pout that a magnae (even a former one) should be an expert at. He shoveled some cake into his mouth anyway just because he knew the fork had touched Zhou Mi’s pink lips.

It just left Zhou Mi choking on his saliva from laughter. “No way, Kui Xian! You’re not a baby. Do it yourself!”

“Well, it seems like you two are having fun,” a familiar voice said, making Zhou Mi’s smile widen slightly. Most people wouldn’t be able to notice, but to Kyuhyun it was as clear as day.

“Oh Geng-ge, have some cake!” cried Zhou Mi, grabbing the fork out of Kyuhyun’s hand, stabbing a small piece, and feeding it to their leader.

Kyuhyun could feel his heart sink at the sight before him. He had never cried because of loving someone, but he was sure that someday Zhou Mi would change all that. His eyes look down into his hands, desperately wishing he had his laptop or PSP to distract him from the painful scene.

One-sided love was painful, but he would continue to endure for that special person’s happiness.

~~~~~
Falling in love with Han Geng was almost second nature. There were so many things to admire with this Chinese man, from his considerate and leader-like nature to his amazing dance skills and underrated singing ability. The man was born to be a performer, China’s shining star. Despite the numerous qualities and talents the leader of Super Junior-M possessed, they only served as a bonuses for the one thing that made Zhou Mi’s heart belong to the dancer forever. It was his pure and caring heart.
“I don’t think I’ve seen Wookie bake so much in all my years of knowing him, even when Super Junior won their first major award,” commented Han Geng in perfect Mandarin as Zhou Mi happily fed him another piece of cake. “He must be really happy about something. Maybe Henry?”
“Yeah. Actually, Kui Xian told me that Henry asked him to teach him how to bake a cake,” informed Zhou Mi, not even noticing the noise that accompanied the dining room as Kyuhyun left to go elsewhere. “Li Xu has such a motherly personality, so I’m guessing he can’t help but take care of the youngest. It helps that Henry acts the part.”
“Zhou Mi… remember what I told you yesterday about my plans about SM?” asked Han Geng, suddenly turning his tone into a serious one. He made sure to whisper so quickly that not even Henry would be able to comprehend their conversation.. “You never gave me your opinion. What should I do? I’m sick and tired of the company driving me into exhaustion. I don’t know how much longer my body can take it, but I know that doing something about it will cause problems for everyone, especially you and Henry.”
The younger Chinese man sighed as he gave the older a bitter smile. Han Geng simply didn’t deserve to be put in this situation. After helping him, as well as other Chinese trainees, in adjusting to such a foreign place as Korea, he deserved so much more than this. “Geng-ge, just do what you think is right. You don’t have to worry about me and Henry. I know that we, including the other members, will support you no matter what decision you make. As long as you’re happy and healthy, that’s all that matters.”
Han Geng smiled and gave the man a brief hug. “Thanks for always listening Zhou Mi. You’re a great brother. I’m sorry for giving you the burden of being the only one knowing, but I just couldn’t tell Siwon. He’s got so much on his plate already with that new drama that he was casted for.”
“It’s really no problem, Gege,” replied Zhou Mi with a smile that was obviously forced, not that Han Geng noticed. “You know that I’ll always be there for you.”
Just as the other was about to reply, the sound of the door opening and closing was heard. An all too recognizable tone, that sent Han Geng jumping out of his seat and running to the front door to greet the person, announced his return.
“Siwon-ah, welcome back!” Han Geng said happily as he switched back to speaking Korean, completely forgetting his once serious mood. “We all missed you.”
Zhou Mi looked at the two “sworn brothers” with a wide smile that threatened to split his face. The action seriously hurt his face, but it was nowhere near the agony that his heart was feeling. But, a Zhou Mi that was always happy was what everyone knew, and he couldn’t risk his Gege knowing about how he truly felt. It would only burden him, even more so now that he was planning to take action against SM.
One-sided love was painful, but he would continue to endure for that special person’s happiness.
~~~~~

Falling in love with Choi Siwon was almost second nature. There were so many physical parts to him that made anyone, man or woman, fall to their knees: his prince-like face, joker smile, infamous ‘chocolate abs’, and so much more. However, no matter how handsome he truly was, Han Geng truly loved him for other reason. One was his cute and childish behavior that completely contradicted to the tough, manly aura he gave off. After all, when the Chinese man was feeling down, it wasn’t Siwon’s looks that always seemed to instantly make him feel as if nothing was wrong.

“Ugh, Siwon, look at yourself,” muttered Han Geng, playfully hitting his muscled bicep. “You don’t smell, but you’re all sweaty. You shouldn’t have walked outside like this. You could have gotten a cold. Look at that! Even your hair is wet! Take a shower now, and change into some clean clothes afterwards. You got that, Choi Siwon?”

“Aish, Geng-ge, you’re scolding me exactly the same way Leeteuk-hyung would,” teased Siwon, touching the elder’s hand just because he loved skinship. “For you information, this isn’t sweat. I took a shower before I left the gym, and I was in such a hurry to get home before dinner, or else you’ll ‘scold’ me again. Now, do I really need to take a shower after just having one about ten minutes ago?”

“No,” muttered Han Geng, rolling his eyes in the process. “I’m guessing you’re really hungry after working out all day, right? Do you want some chocolate cake to regain some of you energy.”

“Really? Thanks hyung!” said Siwon, giving his gege the “joker smile” that he was quite known for. Han Geng didn’t show it in his expression as he led Siwon to the table he and Zhou Mi had been eating on. Truly he always felt a little lightheaded no matter how many times he saw that beautiful smile.

“Hey, Geng-ge, can I just have some of the one you’re eating right now?” questioned Siwon as they took their seats, pointing at the nearly finished piece of cake Zhou Mi had abandoned. “I wouldn’t want to eat a whole slice before dinner.”

Smiling, I nodded and was about to feed him the last of the slice, when Henry’s voice asked from the kitchen, “Wookie-hyung? When are you going to be finished cooking dinner? Kyuhyun-hyung wouldn’t stop complaining about how hungry he was.”

“Aish, why is that Kyuhyun always abusing his status as your hyung,” muttered Ryeowook from the same location. “Anyway, not to worry. We’ll be able to eat dinner soon. I just have to wash a few dishes. Henli-yah, would you mind setting the table with Kyuhyun?”

“You know what?” said Siwon, avoiding the fork Han Geng was aiming at his mouth. “Since Ryeowook-ah said that dinner is about to be served, it wouldn’t be right to be eating cake. I’ll just go and help Ryeowook-ah with the dishes. That way he can finish faster, and we can finally eat, okay?”

Han Geng forced himself to smile a little and nodded. The Chinese man didn’t trust himself enough to talk, afraid the words that may come out of his mouth. Just as the younger man was about to leave, Han Geng handed him his plate that still had the last of the cake left uneaten, indicating that he wanted it washed as well. Siwon gave him one last smile before happily heading off to the kitchen.

Despite how many times that smile of his affected him before, it did nothing to him at this very moment. Han Geng knew that all that joy wasn’t directed at him but another person, who was currently washing dishes in the kitchen. Han Geng gripped the wood tightly, hoping it would transfer some of the pain, but he was greatly disappointed. He was only brought out of his stupor when calloused fingers tapped his shoulder, and a voice that belonged to the youngest said, “Umm, Gege, would it be okay if you got out of your chair for a little while? Kyu-hyung and I have to set the table.”

He nodded without even looking at the two. Despite all the pain he experienced from, he just couldn’t do tell Siwon. Han Geng was worried about whether the other would feel alienated from everyone if he knew the leader was in love with him.

One-sided love was painful, but he would continue to endure for that special person’s happiness.

~~~~~
Falling in love with Kim Ryeowook was almost second nature. He was just about the sweetest person in the entire world, not to mention he was the epitome of cuteness with his small, delicate-looking frame and sweet smiles. He was, in the words of the host of UFO-Town, a 21st century man that could easily take care of his future beloved. Choi Siwon had to admit that out of all the wonderful traits and skills that Ryeowook possessed, there was one that he was in love with the most. It was the sweet man’s caring personality toward his fellow members. Whether you were hungry, in need of advice, or just for a shoulder to cry on, Ryeowook always be there to provide a helping hand.
“Hi Wookie-yah,” Siwon greeted as he entered Ryeowook’s holy sanctum that was the kitchen. He set the plate with what was left of the piece of cake next to the sink. “I heard that Kyuhyun-ah’s been complaining about not having dinner yet, so I thought I could help you with the dishes. Is that okay?”
Ryeowook, who was currently scrubbing one of the pans he used to cook with, gave the elder a grateful smile before turning off the faucet and faced him. Siwon would never admit it, but the action caused his heart to flutter. “Really, Siwon-hyung? Thanks, this will make things a lot easier and prevent the death of that idiot. I swear if he complains about dinner one more time….”
Siwon a bit laughed as he pat the eternal magnae on the back sympathetically, handing him the dish with the small piece of cake still on it. “Relax, it’s to be expected of him.”
“Aish, don’t tell me that they couldn’t even finish one piece on cake. It took much longer than usual to actually finish this cake. That’s the entire reason why dinner’s kind of late anyway.”
“Since you worked so hard on preparing this delicious cake for us, I think it’s only fitting that you get the last piece,” announced Siwon in a joking tone, grabbing that last piece and popping it in Ryeowook’s mouth. The other had not been expecting it, so he coughed a bit in surprise before giving the elder a phony glare while chewing the dessert he had worked to hard on. “By the way Wookie-yah, why did you even bake a chocolate cake?”
Ryeowook revealed a familiar bitter smile, the one that only appeared when something happened pertaining to him. My fists instantly tightened and my eyebrows narrowed out of reflex. Why does almost every conversation have to end with him? “Henli-yah finally agreed to learn how to bake a cake from me. He thought it would be nice to do it for Donghae-hyung. Henli-yah is always so caring towards his…. his…. hyungs, right?”
“O-Of course, Wookie-yah,” whispered the elder. Before he could say anything further, the sound of someone entering the kitchen interrupted.
“Ooh, dinner’s ready!” cheered the voice that had to belong to the youngest. Upon hearing his voice, Ryeowook instantly turned to face him, witnessing the other had happily grabbing the dish had left on the kitchen counter to cool. The youngest ran with the dish in his hands to the dining room.
Ryeowook immediately turned off the water and dried his hands on his jeans before chasing after Henry out of the kitchen without even as much as a glance directed at Siwon. “Henli-yah, stop running.. Let me help you!”
Just like that, Siwon was left to do the dishes by himself as the other had left him for the other. He washed and dried all the dishes on the sink, all except that one plate he had brought over.
Despite what others said, he knew for a fact that he wasn’t ever God’s favorite son. If he was, then why did Ryeowook still love Henry despite all the times he had pleaded to the man above?
He shook his head at his selfishness, knowing that he wasn’t as virtuous as people believed. Maybe his selfishness was the reason why God hadn’t granted him his wish. But, who was he to beg? When he wasn’t being hurt, Ryeowook was obviously at his happiest with Henry. He just had to accept that.
One-sided love was painful, but he would continue to endure for that special person’s happiness.
~~~~~

“Everyone, it’s time for dinner!” Ryeowook announced as he placed dishes that were handed to him by Henry and Kyuhyun on the table.

“Wow, there’s a lot of food here!” commented Donghae as he entered the dining room with Han Geng and Zhou Mi behind, eyeing the food. He looked at Ryeowook with a confused expression on his face. “First, you bake a chocolate cake. Now, you cook all of this. What’s the occasion?”

The eternal magnae shrugged in response. “I don’t know. I just felt like it, I guess. Besides, what are you complaining for? You guys didn’t even finish one slice of cake!”

Henry laughed at his two hyungs bickering with each other before turning to Siwon, who had just entered the dining room. “Hyung, what took you so long? Kyuhyun-hyung’s been complaining about eating already, but I thought it wouldn’t be right until all of us are at the table.”

Siwon rubbed his hands dry on his jeans, then ruffled Henry’s hair affectionately, giving Ryeowook a teasing glare in the process. “Well, I wouldn’t have come late, if a certain someone didn’t leave me to do the dishes all by myself.”

Ryeowook gave him an apologetic smile as Siwon took his seat next to Henry.

Kyuhyun looked at his six members before making an attempt to put some food on his plate, only to be stopped by Siwon. He let out an uncharacteristic pout and whined, “What now? Look, everyone’s here already, so why can’t I eat?”

“We can’t eat until we say grace,” Siwon informed sternly.

“But Zhou Mi and Hankyung-hyung aren’t even Chinese!” protested Kyuhyun.

“Come on, Kui Xian,” said Zhou Mi, patting Kyuhyun on the back. “It won’t hurt to thank someone for the food. Han Geng-ge and I don’t mind.”

“Since you’re so eager to eat, why don’t you say the prayer?” Han Geng suggested with a laugh.

“Okay, GodthankyouforallthedeliciousfoodWookie-hyunghascookedforustonight.OhandforcreatingtheamazingthingthatisStarCraft.Amen,” prayed Kyuhyun in one breath before quickly placing some rice into his plate. “Let’s eat!”

Everyone else looked at Siwon for approval, causing the man to sigh. “Good enough. Let’s just eat already. I’m starving too.”

They all cheered before passing the dishes around for everyone to share and stuffed their faces. The members of one of China’s most popular groups happily talked and bonded over the delicious feast, not knowing that it wasn’t just a love for music that they all had in common.

I’m not very experienced in writing angst (this is my first) because I’m a very happy person that usually writes crack or fluff, but this idea has been in my head for months, and I just had to write it! Besides, I usually avoid reading angst, but when I read a good one that makes my heart hurt and maybe even makes cry, it fulfills me in ways other stories can’t (that sounded kinda weird XP). I hope my biases aren’t too obvious in this story. Please comment!
