So, uh, it's been a while. Since December 31, 2019, apparently. What can I say? Worldwide pandemics are EXHAUSTING! I'm okay. I lost an elderly relative to this fucking virus in early April, which made it suddenly seem very real. I suppose it was probably a blessing in disguise. Quite WELL-disguised. My uncle had dementia and was living in a care home. Care homes, of course, being a breeding ground for COVID. My mother is less upset about her big brother having died of this thing than she is upset she was unable to travel to his funeral. Funerals provide closure, but the public health must come first.
But I still have a job, which is more than many people can say. I've been working from home full-time since mid-March, so I not only still have a job, I wasn't required to risk my own health to keep doing it when things were really bad. More than healthcare workers can say, or supermarket workers, or pharmacy workers. So yeah, i've been pretty lucky.
How are you guys doing?
