A/N: First request for ohsojuicy21 ! I hope you like this! I tried working with your prompt but I guess it didn't work out as well as I wanted it too. I did try to make it sort of angsty D: ... It may not be exactly what you wanted but I hope you enjoy it either way!

“I hate you,” she whispers to one in particular. She leans against the cold glass and watches how big crystal-like tears from the sky slur against her window. It’s raining again, like it has been ever since she told him good bye.

She takes a deep breath and gets up, leaving the room behind while her words still linger there, like a permanent reminder of what once was a beautiful lie.

When the clouds in the sky are cleared, she decides it’s time for her to clear the clouds in her head too.

“Mushroom, are you ready for a walk?”

A young pet poodle races towards her with his leash in his mouth and she takes that as a yes.

Not long after she finds herself strolling along the riverbank, trying to hold back a little too enthusiastic young dog.

The sun is trying to break through the clouds and the wind is playing with her hair. It’s still summer but today feels more like an early autumn day. It sets the mood, solemn but not somber.

And that’s exactly how she feels today.

She allows her thoughts to be taken away by the soft freeze and almost does she forget about the rollercoaster of unwanted emotions she’s been through the past couple of days.

Her thoughts are rudely disturbed by a voice she knows a little bit too well.

“Kuri!!! Hey! Kuri!”

Her first reaction is to pretend she never heard it and just to keep walking but Yuto’s legs are longer than hers and it doesn’t take long for him to catch up with her and tap her on her shoulder.

She turns around, a small smile prying on her lips because she can’t image anyone giving Yuto a dirty look. Besides, it’s not his fault his best friend is an ass.

Yuto looks surprised and a little bit troubled, but before talking he first kneels down to pet the small brown haired dog on the head. From down there he looks up at Kuri again.

“His plane will be leaving in two hours. He’s waiting for you. He cares for you.”

Now Kuri just wants to walk away.

Instead she just puffs out a bit of air and roles her eyes, “if he cared for me he had asked me what I thought before he decided he was going back to England.”

She pulls at the leash telling Mushroom it’s time to start walking again. She just really doesn’t feel like dealing with this.

Yuto blinks and runs a hand through his already messy hair, “he did. He never made up his mind before he went to talk to you.”

Kuri stops in her tracks and turns around.

“What?”

Yuto awkwardly scratches the back of his neck, not sure whether it is his place to tell her. However, when two watery brown eyes look his way and he sees the mixed emotions of pain and misunderstanding in them, he caves.

“When his father asked him to go back to England with him he said he wouldn’t give his dad an answer before he had talked with you, because you mean everything to him.”

Yuto walks over to where she is and rests both his hands on her shoulders, “I don’t know what happened between you two but he never wanted to leave you. Ever. Maybe it’s just one big misunderstanding.”

“I-what?”

Before Yuto fully comprehends what’s happening he finds himself with a dog leash in his hand and Kuri running away from him.

“What are you doing?!” He yells after her.

She doesn’t look back, she doesn’t slow down, “getting him back!”

A faint smile appears on Yuto’s lips as he watches her dashing away from him. He picks up the pet poodle and lets the small dog lick his face. He figures Kuri will come to pick it up when she gets back from the airport.

Kuri manages to find a cab that’s willing to take her to the airport as soon as possible and during the ride she tries recalling her last conversation with Keito.

“My dad asked me to come back to England with him. He thinks it’ll be good for me.”

Kuri looks up from her book, frowning. It feels as if a thunderstorm infiltrates her perfect blue skies and no one told her it was coming.

“Did you tell him you’re not going?”

“No…” Keito’s voice is soft as he looks at the floor, “I-“

“Oh. Well have fun in England then.”

“What?” He now looks at her while she does everything to avoid his gaze.

“You heard me, have fun,” Kuri’s voice is cold and distant.

“But I haven’t-“

She cuts him off, “I heard European girls are really pretty, I’m sure you’ll have a blast.”

“I-“ Keito has no idea what to say anymore. He wants her to listen to him and to tell him he can’t go. He wants to tell her he loves her and he’s willing to stay in Japan if only she asks him to. But her voice is so cold and her eyes are so distant he can’t find the courage to say so. “I guess.”

She bangs her head against the car window, now realizing she jumped in conclusions way too fast and whishing she had picked up the phone in the past couple of days whenever he had tried to call her.

Keito always had been a timid one, he had always tried to stay away from conflicts and hoped things would turn out for the best. He had hoped she’d come to her senses before it was too late. And now it probably was.

“Hey little lady, if you want some air I can open the window for you, you don’t have to break it,” the taxi driver attempts to be witty, but Kuri just gives him a look, she’s not even going to bother with him.

As soon as the cab stops in front of the entrance of the airport Kuri throws some money at the driver’s head before speeding off.

“Little lady!! This is too much!”

“Keep it!” She yells over her shoulders, she can’t be bothered with it now.

When she runs into the hall she’s a bit clueless as of where to go now but bright yellow signs with times of arrival and take off lead her the way. She grabs her cell phone and checks the time. Only 20 minutes before Keito’s plane is supposed to take off.

She dashes through the hall, towards the gate Keito’s plane will take off from, believing she can make it.

However, upon arrival at the gate she finds out that in real life it doesn’t work out as it does in movies, because a giant man stops her in her tracks.

“Can I see your ticket and passport, please?”

“I-I don’t have one, I just need to stop someone from-“

“Listen kid, I don’t really care, I need your ticket and passport. I can’t let you through otherwise.”

“But you see, my best friend is on that plane and he can’t leave and-“

“No passport. No entrance.”

By then Kuri feels the tears streaming down her face. It’s unfair. She feels stupid and on top of that also mean because if it wasn’t for her Keito wouldn’t be leaving Japan. If only…

She pulls her cell phone out of her pocket and even though she has Keito’s number removed from its memory she knows it by head.

A nervous sigh escapes from her lips when she finds out the number is still working and after hearing the dial tone three times Keito’s surprised voice comes from the other end of the line.

“Kuri?”

“Keito. You can’t go.”

“But Kuri, I-“

“No, listen to me Keito,” she interrupts him, “I know I’m late and that you hate me now but you can’t leave. I don’t want you to. I want you to stay here in Japan with me. I-“

She can see how the plane disconnects itself from the gate and she starts talking faster, “I love you. I always have. I thought you were going to leave me and by pretending I didn’t care I thought it wouldn’t hurt as much. I though you wanted to go England with your dad, but I saw Yuto today and he told be that’s not true.”

The plane starts driving on its lane and helplessly Kuri runs along with it, knowing it’s too late already.

“I’m sorry I didn’t listen and I’m sorry I didn’t pick up yours calls or opened the door for you when you stopped by. I’m sorry I’m so stupid and that I’m too late now. Keito… Keito?”

Kuri stops running as she hears a soft chuckle from the other end of the line.

“Why are you laughing? What’s so funny?”

“Nothing… I just…”

Keito hangs up on her and Kuri I feel the blood rushing through her face. She wants to scream and stomp her feet on the floor because she’s mad and upset and she wants to release the tension in her body.

However, two arms warp themselves around her body and pull her backwards. She wants to kick and fight back but the familiar scent of Keito’s favorite lotion enters her nose and makes her to stop fighting.

“I was ready to board when I realized that I really don’t want to go to England. I was actually waiting for my cab to bring me back to you and so I could pounce on your door and make you listen to me. To for once not wait for someone else to make it right. I guess I was too late. I guess I don’t mind because I wouldn’t have wanted to miss that phone call.”

It’s Keito’s voice mumbling into her ear and she can feel her body going numb in his arms.

“You were-But that plane…”

It takes a good 5 seconds to comprehend what’s going on, she then turns around and starts slapping his chest while tears stream down on her cheeks.

“You bastard, you made me believe you were in that plane, that you were going to leave me, you made me run after the plane while crying and yelling at my phone, people must gave thought I’m an idiot!”

He chuckles and lets her pounce on his chest as long as she likes, “you made me believe you wanted to leave, besides, I tried telling you I wasn’t even in the plane but you wouldn’t let me. So I guess we’re even now.”

She slaps his chest one more time before burying her face in it.

“Stupid.”

Keito just grins sheepishly as he pulls her closer and kisses her hair, “I love you too, Kuri.”
