Preface: For those of you who don't know, there's this kid at the homeschool class we go to (we started going 9 or 10 weeks ago? and haven't missed a week yet) that really likes to bug the hell out of Kadin. Sometimes, it's physical, and sometimes it's just in his face. Last week, Jon went to the hs class with us just to see what the kids do, how they interact, etc, and he witnessed this kid pinching, spitting on, and just plain being cruel to Kadin. Jon wouldn't take it. After K was crying for like the 3rd time Jon confronted the mother of this child and it wasn't so pretty. OK, fast forward...
Sunday evening:
Kadin: "When's homeschool class?"
Me: "tomorrow morning"
K: "Is daddy off work tomorrow?"
Me: "Yeah, why?"
K: "I want to stay with daddy then and not go. Nevermind, I want daddy to go with us so he can stick up for me if (kid) is being mean to me"
Me: "OK, we can ask daddy but he may need to get some work done around the house"
K: "If he can't go I'll still go cause daddy told me that if he hits me once to tell him I don't like it when he does that and to tell his mommy, but if he does it again that I can hit him back!"
OMG, I was worried about what would happen then at homeschool class yesterday. However, as it would turn out, we got lost on the way and ended up being 30 minutes late and as we pulled in the mother of this boy was outside leaving and saying things about "if you can't behave..." so we didn't have to deal with that issue at all yesterday. However, we had another issue. Allison did not want to partake in the activity (well, actually, none of the kids did, except maybe one and it involved sharp knives and carving utensils which weren't safe for the kids anyways...) and there were no other structured activities for the kids to do if they didn't want to play with butcher knives, so out the door Allison went and into the front yard, only I didn't see her. Melissa came up to the fence and said "One of your twins is in the front yard and I can't catch her". Oh shit! Krista lives on a busy road. So I run out to the front and didn't see her for a minute, then found her two houses over and when she saw me looking at her she ran another 2 or 3 houses down. Needless to say, this along with the other stuff of the day at the hs class, along with some of the conversation and lack of child involvement just really got to me and I gathered the children and we left (my mom had gone with me cause I wanted her to see what her kids get to be involved in, of course she just had to go this time, when it looked like a complete mess and lack of anything school related other than playground time).
I really needed to vent about this, it was so frustrating, and felt like a complete waste of time, energy, and money ($10 in gas and $10 in fast food for the kids cause I got lost getting home and kept getting on 71 south! and wouldn't get home in time for the bus and feed the kids so had to stop and buy food which I never do and then had to drop E & W off at school!).
Next week is a continuum from this week so needless to say I don't think we'll be going!
