Summary: For kink meme. Shigeaki Kato, a supposed angelic lawyer, witnessed a car accident involving a mysterious man named Yamashita Tomohisa. He doesn't know anything about him but yet he's drawn to him. With his trusted friend, Keiichiro Koyama, he finds out more about this mysterious man's past and learns a bit about himself. What does this Yamashita Tomohisa have anything to do with him? Whose accident was it really?
Author's Notes: I seem to alternate with the amount of words, huh? It's for dramatic effect. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it. *PUNCHED* But anyway, really, I keep some chapters shorter than others for a reason. ;D You'll see as the story progresses.

Chapter Five
The Words
As soon as Shige signed his insurance information, Doctor Nishikido kicked him out.
“Well, now that you’re his official caretaker, I’m afraid I’ll have to kick you out. Visiting hours are over. Go home. You know I’m good for taking care of this pet bum of yours.”
When Shige returned to the waiting room, he saw Koyama who seemed to be sleeping in the same spot he left him in.
“Koyama,” he nudged. He really didn’t want to wake Koyama up since he always found it somewhat enjoyable to watch him sleep but he really had to go home. It was nearly five in the morning and he was sure he didn’t want to use his sick days just to sleep in. And he was also sure Koyama had that paper to work on as well. “Koyama, wake up.” Shige continued to nudge him but Koyama groggily swatted him away. “Wake up.” By now, Shige was nearly whining for the older man to wake up.
Finally Koyama did.
“What time is it?” he asked as he let out a yawn and stretched his legs and arms.
“It’s almost five. Let’s get home.”

When the taxi arrived at Shige’s apartment complex, he reached down for his wallet to give the taxi his money when Koyama grabbed his arm. Shige looked at him, worried for the umpteenth time that night.
“What’s wrong?” he asked suddenly. Koyama had once again fallen asleep during the ride but he managed to wake up.
“I’m worried about that guy. What are you going to do? What are we going to do? We can’t just leave him there to die!”
Koyama released Shige’s arm and the lawyer paid the taxi his fare. “I’m going to take care of him. I mean, why not right? It’s the right thing to do.”
The journalist seemed to ponder his statement for a while when he finally spoke again. “Can you afford it?”
Shige let out a chuckle. “Of course I can. Just because I’m an angelic lawyer, doesn’t mean I took a vow of poverty.”
“That’s not what I mean and you know it.”
Shige seemed to ignore the other as he opened the door to leave. “I’ll see you later, okay?” He stepped out before Koyama could call out his name. After a few more moments, the taxi finally left. Shige sighed as he thought about what Koyama meant if he could afford it.
Of course I could. It’s about time I got over that incident anyway.
Shige felt the cold weather of the early morning and headed quickly inside his apartment building. He started to think about that man once again as he got in the elevator and pressed his floor’s button. He continued to wonder why something pulled him towards the crowd when the situation was under control by them. He was fine with Koyama and their friends. Why was Shige special enough for that man to somehow drag him to him?
It wasn’t fair to anyone, most especially Shige, who had just finished a brutal paternity test along with a litigation process.
Shige let out a sigh as he got himself ready for bed, after he had let himself in the apartment and locked the door.
Maybe Koyama is right, he thought. Maybe I really can’t afford to take care him. I don’t even know anything about that man, besides his name. Yamashita Tomohisa. It sounds made up. Who are you really? And why have you stepped into my life?
