The Frontier love triangle is going to be resolved, presumably more than "wings lol". (Sorry to disappoint, dasmondschaf.)
He designed Optimus Prime. This was a surprise, despite Starscream totally being a Valkyrie. Why is it a surprise to me that he did Starscream's design, as well?
He started working in high school.
He did SDF Macross at the age of 22 with no prior directorial/writing training. Frankly, if bullshitting as you go leads to such randomness as wrangling a tuna in space, I'm all for it.

Also, I took his comments about killing off major characters to be a stab at the grimdark Gundam crowd, which pleases me.
