"Hey, Kyungsoo hyung." Kyungsoo just knew Jongin was going to mess with him. He decided to focus on chopping vegetables.
"Yes, Jongin?"
"Today's April 13," he said.
"Yes, Jongin. That's the fucking date," Kyungsoo snapped. He accidentally slammed the blade on his poor cutting board; he was honestly losing his patience.
"You know what that means?" Jongin slyly hinted. Kyungsoo did not know, and frankly did not care.
"What?" he growled through his teeth. He had given up on cutting his vegetables.
"It's Black Day," Jongin happily answered. "Happy Single Awareness Day." He slid a flyer across the kitchen counter. "I already made you plans."
Kyungsoo picked up the flyer and frowned.

"I already paid, so you better go," Jongin said. "You've been grumpy lately, and I think you need a good lay."
"Go fuck your twink boyfriend," Kyungsoo spat.
"I'll fuck Luhan later, but right now I need you to promise me to go, Mr. Grumpy," Jongin replied.
"I'm not grumpy."
"While I can't confirm that, you do need to get laid." Kyungsoo gave him the finger.
"I'll bring your meal soon," a tall, lanky, and awkward teenager told him. Kyungsoo nodded in acknowledgement and sat himself down at a table. Alone.
Kyungsoo really didn't know why he was sitting in a noisy restaurant full of strangers. Then he remembered that Jongin paid for a free meal.
All around him were desperate men and equally desperate women trying to go at each other. He just wanted food.
"What's a cutie like you doing here?" a random stranger asked drunkenly. It was only then Kyungsoo noticed the bar over on the far left.
"Not you," Kyungsoo replied harshly. Where the hell was his jajangmyeon?
"Aw, baby. You don't have to be so sad because you're lonely. That's why we're all here," the man cooed.
"Go away," Kyungsoo said as he glared at the man.
"C'mon. Don't you want to have some fun? No need to be so mean."
"Sir, did you ask your meal to-go?" an unfamiliar voice called out. Kyungsoo looked in the direction of the voice and was faced with a man of intimidating height. His face stoic, his eyebrows fierce, his jawline sharp and his hair bleached blonde. Kyungsoo would have found him attractive if he wasn't currently irritated, but that man was not the awkward kid who took Kyungsoo's order.
"No, I didn't, but I've changed my mind. Can I have it to-go please?" Kyungsoo asked, more like begged. He didn't need to spend more time than necessary here.
"No problem, sir. Come by the bar to pick it up," the man said. He looked him in the eye. "And don't hesitate to ask me for anything else." Kyungsoo felt a pleasant run of shivers down his spine. The man walked away.
Kyungsoo decided to go to the bar for a few drinks to calm himself down. Unfortunately for him, the drunk man from earlier followed him.
"Please leave me alone," Kyungsoo sighed. He sat down and ordered a beer from the bar.
"But you need to have fun," the man whined. He inched closer and Kyungsoo could smell the liquor emanating off of him. "You seem stressed."
Kyungsoo tried to push away, but with little success. The man had him pressed against the bar counter.
"Please stop harassing our guests, sir. You're causing quite the ruckus," rang the voice of the attractive waiter, whatever that man was, from earlier.
The drunk man pushed Kyungsoo away and spat, "Fine. Owl Eyes wasn't worth my time anyway," and walked off.
Kyungsoo turned in the direction of his savior, and there he was carrying a plastic bag with his food. Kyungsoo's stomach grumbled. He smiled gratefully and took the bag from the tall man's large hands. "Thank you."
"No problem," the tall man replied and sat down on the stool next to Kyungsoo. Kyungsoo's beer arrived uncapped and Kyungsoo chugged half of the bottle before letting out a satisfied sigh. "You don't look the type to go to singles' events like this."
"I'm not," Kyungsoo replied as he opened his to-go box of jajangmyeon. He fished out the chopsticks in the bag and broke them apart. "My friend forced me to come here. I only came because he paid for the food." He rubbed the chopsticks together and grabbed a huge chunk of noodles before shoveling the food into his mouth.
The other man chuckled and held out his hand. "Yifan." Kyungsoo stared at him wide-eyed with black noodles hanging out of his mouth. He bit down and chewed, making sure to wipe his mouth with a napkin.
"Kyungsoo," he said in between chews and shook Yifan's hand.
"So, Kyungsoo. I know we just met, and you're probably sick of this question, but would you let me treat you to dinner sometime?"
One Month Later
Kyungsoo called up Jongin.
"Hello?" he heard a hoarse voice on the other line. "Hyung, what the hell do you want?"
"I have a boyfriend. Now stop telling me to get laid." Kyungsoo hung up. He smiled up at Yifan, who had his arm wrapped around him, and kissed his cheek.
