So, my next installment begins with us getting lost. XD
Well, sorta lost. We were told to go to at least 3 different rooms by 3 different people, until we finally figured out where we were supposed to be.
We being me,
amefurift and
shourai .
So we entered the room and ended up in the second row to the right, behind 2 other girls that we ended up befriending who were videotaping the conference, Jasmine and Chingyi.
The room basically looked like this
When they would be seated, Sho would be at the middle microphone. The funny thing was...
amefurift brought her MP3 recorder, so we could at least have an audio recording of the event. She got permission to place the recorder on the table, nt she did this, at least 10 other reporters got up and placed their mikes there as well. Of course, they had to contend with the pig....
Currently in this shot, he had no less than 3 recorders around him. Note the position of his hands, BTW - originally, when a staff member put him up on the table, he was standing normally. However, when one of the reporters went up to put their recorder on the table, they knocked the pig over. There was some general "oooh!" ribbing in the audience, but she finally managed to put the pig upright again (he kept falling over). When she was done, he looked like he was throwing down his gangster signs. XD
The "man in the pink suit" that everyone seems to mention by clothing color and not by name in their LJs was Grady from Subway Cinemas and the Asian Film Society. Seriously, he looked good in that pink suit. XD If anyone could pull it off, it would be him. the press conference was running late because of technical difficulties. The Japanese TV cameramen weren't getting good enough sound feed for their cameras. Eventually, they resorted to putting their mikes on the table as well, and Miike and Sho were introduced and entered the room.
My first impression of Sho was pleasantly surprised. I'd seen Jun Matsumoto in LA and gotten the chance to be in the room during a one on one interview, and I remember he was short and extremely skinny. While Sho was definitely short as well, he was also a little more filled out than Jun. read: muscles! :D
I also loved his suit. It was very News Zero. XD The dark suit was complemented by a white shirt with bold purple vertical stripes, that matched his purple tie. His hair was tousled - artfully messy of course - and it appeared to have reddish highlights. In short, he looked gorgeous, and I'm not a Sho fangirl by any stretch. After meeting him in person, though... *.*
Meow. :) (Don't worry Oh-chan... you're still my 一番!)
He greeted us all in English, which I thought was very nice - it was nowhere near as rehearsed as Jun's introduction in LA, though. He spoke slowly and clearly, but with little to no odd gaps in his sentences. It sounded rather normal, to be honest. :)
The one thing I remember about the press conference, was that
amefurift asked him if there was something he wanted us to pay particular attention to in the movie. This is what cracks me up /now/, but at the time, he said, with a completely straight face, that we should watch the scenes with the robots because of the destruction, and how sad it was. >.>
<.<
Yeah... I'll comment more about this when I give my break down of the movie. XD
Suffice it to say, the press conference was subdued and quiet - unlike the insanity that was awaiting Sho at the booth. And that shall be my next report! :)
