Updates!

I've been told that I've been rather bad about updating lately, so here's one - I'll try to be thorough.

- First off, I am not dead. I am, in fact, in rather good health. I've been keeping up well with the exercise and trying to eat more healthy (what with limited finances, it seems more important to purchase food that provides nutrients to function versus HFCS that tastes good). Eating healthy is still a relative thing but by far I tend to eat more home-cooked food than not, and I've been getting in more fruit and vegetables. I got a juicer to help with this, although it's a used one and sounds rather like a wood-chipper. Green lemonaide is kind of weird, but not too bad with ginger.

- I'm still working part-time at the library. I'm still watching in case they post a better position, but considering everything, I doubt it'll happen any time soon. I also reapplied for parks over the summer. If they schedule the same way they did last year, I can work at the library and then a few nights a week go work at the park for the evening shift. In the meantime, I'm still doing small freelance projects. Need to kick myself in the butt.

- Still doing the gaming thing regularly. Probably online a little less lately than I had been, but since the weather is nicer and it's staying light out later, not surprising. Tabletop two nights a week, larp every other week, which I run. The old chronicle is ending soon, new game is starting soon. I'm looking forward to the new game. I loved the old chronicle and storyline but it wasn't really ever -mine- per se, and it's gone on entirely too long.

- The roommate bought a house for $9000. Yes, $9000. We get roughly two months to make it livable. Which shouldn't be too hard since most of it is cosmetic -- cleaning, scrubbing, minor repairs and patching of the walls, painting. If anyone knows of anyone getting rid of a stove (gas or electric -- apparently it has hookup for both..?) let me know. Or a couch. A decent couch could be cool. I miss having a couch and a diningroom table. The house is older - 1927, and seems to have various points of updates. Forced air, newer hot water heater, windows are rather new, looks like someone added on a bathroom on the ground floor. The house is also -weird-. I'll update with the various puzzles and strangeness at some point.

- I'm starting some tomatoes indoors - going to start some peppers and other vegetables as well. Since the yard in the house needs work as well, I'll probably do some box or container gardening. I am allowed to play around with landscaping. *plots*

- I got a camera. I'd been thinking about getting one for a while and probably shouldn't have dropped the money on it like that, but I think it will be useful.

- I'm feeling ambitious lately, though I don't know toward what. Not yet. The only debt I have is the college loan. I've realized that I can rather easily live on very little -- I admit to getting some help from the parents (my mom pays for my cellphone on the family plan, I get help with car insurance, which isn't that much atm anyway), and having multiple roommates helps, but I haven't mooched much. I'm healthy and in decent shape, and I'm feeling rather optimistic despite the dire economic forecast and our apparent return to the 1700s. Maybe it's because I feel like if I wanted to, I could without much trouble drop everything and go off to find something else to do. There isn't much obligation to play the economic game and do things 'the right way' when it's clear that right now you really can't like you could the past decade.

Which leaves the question, "Okay - now what?"

That's where I am, and what I have to figure out. Part of me wants to maybe travel a bit, part of me wants to do my art in some form or another. Part of me wants to do something for the betterment of.. -something-. Heck, I'd even dabbled with the idea of doing some Americorps work or something for a bit.

I'm still working on this thought process.

That, my friends, is where I am at the moment. Hope that's sufficient for an update!
