Update:
Saw my GI doc post colonoscopy. Basically, it was stay on the prednisone, weening off slowly. If problems come back as I decrease, it may be time to redo my meds. This means something like Humira or Remacaide. Not sure I want to have to be on either of those.
I joined the Wellness Center as part of my employee health program. It's like a gym but with more physical therapy in mind. Lots of folks Dad's age. That's good, because I don't think a woman my size, sweating like a yak after a 10K would be attractive anyway. My wellness coach for work is also my trainer at the gym. She has me doing cardio, stretches and weights everyday. I hate the elliptical thing. It's fucking out right evil. My quads quiver in agony at the mere mention of this contraption. The person who invented the elliptical stair stepper exercise machine is the primary henchman of Satan and should be exfoliated with a belt sander and dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Today I did a half mile on the treadmill (3% grade, high speed walking), several weights and some balance work. God knows I need the latter.
Work was a WTF?! night. One heme analyzer is down and the company keeps sending us the wrong parts (and they wonder why we are moving to a new system entirely). One of the coag machines was in a snit. Later, a chem analyzer went stupid - well, half of it - but then one of the evening techs fixed it. When the day crew began to arrive, our auto-release computer program went glitched. WTH? Oh, the past two days I've had a blood culture go off during morning rounds. That's fun. Well, in a way, it is because I'm not running all over the lab. I'm just sitting in micro, streaking plates and making slides. :D We have been crazy busy this week. Any guesses as to why?? Weather temps in the 60s now not getting over 50. However, despite the annoyances (we have duplicates of damn near every machine in the laboratory for just such occasions) it's been good.
And, just because, here's a photo of Snowball, my new stuffed plush from Bladespark.
