These were painted with watercolors on bisque-ware and then clear coated with lacquer. The dragon and moth will be part of my exhibit at the AnthroCon art show next month. The back of the Scorpion Dragon is the same motif as the background he's standing on (magma). The moth has a similar design on it's back but in green and yellow (fronds). The purple/blue/green kaleidoscope is done on both sides as well. I did a poison dart frog and a blue kaleidoscope disc, too, but the lacquer isn't dry on them yet. I have one side of a phoenix done. I painted it in browns with the magma background for it. I have to do the magma on the other side.
These things take HOURS to paint. At least six if I'm doing a two sided one. The pendants just plain are around $3. I have no idea what to charge for them. Suggestions? I have a lot of trouble pricing my work. I tend to over/under sell myself. Anyway, input is appreciated and will be considered. Thanks. :D The ones I do at the PPig Pottery are $8 (that includes glazes, firing, pendant base) and can take just as long to paint.
Well, I think I will go work on the magma for the phoenix pendant. Tonight I'm back to work. It was so awesome to have the day off, though.
Oh, and tomorrow morning I go meet with the sleep doc to find out if I need the CPAP. Hopefully, they will say yes and will tell me where/how to get one. I will also be going to Perkin's after work to kill time between work and the appointment.
