Work was nuts. Busy. Very busy. Must have admitted at least 5 patients. Not good. One has a cardiac problem and he's only 29. Not a happy Thanksgiving for them. :( I do have a FWS for you, though, as I know how you love those. A man in his mid fifties came into the ER complaining of chest pains. OMG! OK! We do all these tests to see what is wrong... the ONLY thing that came out as "abnormal" was his blood alcohol level... a sizzling 0.255 (again, the legal blood alcohol level is 0.08). Yeah. There's yer problem! Also had a 16 year old in for a crisis intervention. Phleb said he was huge - well over 6'0" tall - and mean looking. When she thanked him for allowing her to draw his blood, he whispered, "Happy Thanksgiving". Never smiled either. He had some - uh - illicit pharmaceuticals in his system but was otherwise ok. Poor kid. 16 years old and already that down. I was there at that age. I hope he'll be all right.

I'm about 3/4 crazy. A co-worker and I have a running gag where we will leave each other notes inside the machines. Today, I inflated a glove, drew a face and wings on it (turkey), and left it in the SECI (on the waste bottle where it won't interfere with the functioning of the machine but where she will see it when she empties the bottle). Almost makes me want to go into work tonight to see her expression. :D I showed MS and the Great Brain... both thought it was hilarious. :D

I had to go to the pharmacy today so I ran a few errands so I won't have to risk my life on Friday. I also went to the post office to mail things for my Holiday Wish List folks as well as SweetGingerTea, mrst4nker and layrenelement. Enjoy the goodies, folks. Also, if you could give a bit of critique on the cards I made, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure I like that design just yet.

After the pharmacy, I walked up the strip mall to the Goodwill. I stopped in at the pet store so I could pet their cat. God, I miss my cat. Before I start to cry, I'm going to go back to the Goodwill part of the story. I love this store. I got Dad a "golf survival guide" and a bag of Titelist balls. I also found a handmade leather bag (for $3!! WOOT!), some scrub tops (one of Garfield and Odie and one of the Pink Panther <3), a tin can that I had to have for some reason (it has a flip-top on it so it can hold things inside it), a book about quantum physics and the meaning of life (yeah, I know, I read weird shit) and a BAG of these little magazines about crochet and needlecrafts. OMG! Some are from the 80s. I can't believe we used to dress like that! 8-( And the hair!? Good God Almighty! Aquanet must have been in every household! Anyway, 25 of them for $2. *Does a little dance* Oh the doilies I can make! Mind you, not the sweaters. Bill Cosby sweaters are SO out of style!

Now I'm off to look through the magazines and then to crochet!
