He tries to put her out of his mind, and can't. Daenerys Targaryen stands out from the rest of the khalasar; delicate and pale where the Dothraki are as brown and tough as leather. There is dust in her hair and unshed tears in her eyes and Jorah has never seen a bride so brave or beautiful; or forlorn.
It'll get easier, he tells her, offering what little he can (a piece of dried horse meat). Dany is silent. He watches her move away, feeling a tenderness very much like pain.
It'll get easier. Jorah prays that it does.
